fat and depressed

Hi all

I am new to this whole forum concept. I just feel like reaching out and hearing others ideas about how to break my cycle of eating because I'm depressed which makes me more depressed and hungry! I've read a lot of posts and find them entertaining and supportive....so thanks.
I live in Australia and put on a lot of weight after having two children very close together.

It takes determination; you have to want to change. Every calorie counts. Get to know your habits, both good and bad, and work to keep the ones that will better your lives and rid yourselves of the habits that have gotten you where you are.
Share your experiences with others. Doing so has helped me a ton.
 
Hello! i am new too, and its really important to be fit.
i am obese too, but i am right on the line of obese and overweight, im young too, 16.
ive wighed 200-205lbs, and 5'10" high. past 3-5 days, ive been dieting and went to bally total fitness once, i lost 9lbs, from that.
Just wana say, the sooner you start the better, ive felt lazy bofore, like when i was going home i though to myself that i will change and wont eat, but guess what, when i saw the food, i totaly forgot about my motivation.
ive basically starved myself for 3 days, eating very little, i had big migranes during then, its like a sign of withdrawal from a drug.
now i dont want to eat, my family offers me to try something i really loved before and i dont eat it. Also after my workout today, that was the greatest feeling in the world, cause being obese causes all those bad times and depressions, you have to realize all the other good things rather then food.
So go and sign up for a local gym, no matter how embarresed you are, first i was embaresed to even take my shirt off, now i can rung around the gym naked lol, you get used to liking yourself for who you are and that helps alot at weightloss.
Going to the gym will help you alot because you will be with a bunch of great people trying to acheve the same goal.

Thanks for encouragement!! I was relatively good over the Easter break....my problem is eating too many savoury things...I'm not too bad with the sweet tooth!!

I see this as a time of new life. Easter....it's a bit like New Year so I've decided to really try to shift the weight...it is making me depressed and that is not good for my kids.

My Ma gave sent me a book The Butterfly Plan...It's about turning into a super-woman ...I'd just be happy to feel like a woman again! Instead of Jabba the Hutt! I am going to start by doing a walk every day...just to get out of the house and find some peace...(I'll take a walkman or whatever they call those things...MP3 (eighties techno-phobe) If I listen to some Madonna and PInk I'll feel motivated...I am so bad at saying I'll do things tomorrow or on Monday but I'm gonna do this thing right now!!! I'll let you know how I go. My son just asked me if you get fat after you get married!!!! I said...well....YES!

new member and starting the idiot diet

Hi all,

I have found this forum and hope it will be helpful. I just started the I-diet, the princilpe is to switch on the fat burning by confusing my metabolism. It has varied food choices and 4 meals a day-- no calorie counting, just eat til satisfied, not full. I feel pretty good after my first day. I want to loose 15 pounds. I am optimistic. Has anyone heard or tried this diet? I would love to hear about it, and your experience with it.

Hi,

Don't be depressed many fit and muscular were once exactly where you are, however, it takes hard work determination and time. Take one step at a time and you'll get there.
 
Hey everyone....I joined this forum because I was once overweight and after a car accident unable to walk. While working hard to get walking again I decided to go to college and become a fitness professional so that I could help others by delivering the truth.
