Extended soreness?

After doing a taxing routine, I'm usually only mildly sore the day after (usually my rest day), and the following day I'm fine. Not sore at all.

So, it's been two days since I've worked out and I'm sorer than I usually am the day after.

I think I made a mistake. I worked out and had some energy to burn before dinner, was bored, and about an hour or so later, I decided I would go out and do some burpees and pull ups. I felt sore right on my first pull-up, and when I went to go do one, the little tendon or muscle that runs along the bone between the bicep and tricep in my inner arm near my armpit was sore, I noticed my chest was sore as well. But, I just kept going. It wasn't a sharp pain or anything, but it was that pain like working or stretching a muscle when it's sore. Didn't think anything of it.

I never had this issue with bike sessions. We'd go ride hard for like 2 hours, grab a bite to eat, ride again for another hour or so, go have a beer, then go ride again...and probably go ride again later that night if/when more people came over. So I didn't even think twice about going to work out a second time as I've never had a soreness problem.

Question is, did I do more damage than good by working out AGAIN after already working out about an hour or so prior? I want to keep things as efficiently and as on schedule as possible and streamline my gains and reach my goal(s) in a timely fashion. Already taking an additional day off means, to me atleast, I'm a day behind. As you've guessed it, I'm really obsessive compulsive, lol.
