Hi!
I really need some help with my fat loss. I have a TANITA body fat analyser and curently its saying:
weight: 208 lbs
calories to sustain weight: 2050
overall fat percentage: 27%
fat % arms/legs/torso: ~20%/~20%/27%
The problem i'm having is that most of my weight is concentrated around my stomach. I have gone back to my cross trainer and started with 45 minutes and now have built upto 90 minutes. Of course i varied the intensity first and then increased the time.
My cross trainer is saying at 90 minutes i'm burning 2000 calories - of course these things are never acurate but you get a rough idea.
I've switched my diet giving up all soft drinks and only drink fresh fruit juice when i need it (max 2 glasses a day) and just plain water.
I've also switched to low fat foods mostly fresh, but i'm confused as to how much fat i need. I know the RDA is 70g for men, but that sounds like alot!
Also i've tried independantly for a few weeks the following:
1) exercise more, and eat the same (tough!)
2) exercise more, and eat a little more (not too tough)
3) exercise more, eat the same but spread out over the day
None have really made a huge difference so far. I'm going to try a combination of 2 and 3 next.
The strange thing is a few months ago i dropped the soft drinks (rest of the diet stayed the same minus obvious stuff like chips and fried stuff), and started 45 minutes on the cross trainer and i must have lost about 10 pounds in 3 weeks. I stopped and went back to my really bad ways eating alot of take out because i was always late at the office, and now i've gained 15 pounds from back then!
I'm really confused as to if 90 minutes with 45 minutes being intense (60+rpm) and 45 minutes less intense (50 to 60rpm) back to back with no stopping is actually the right thing to do? (thats 3 to 5 times a week)
I'm not really a big fan of free wights so i'd prefer not to have to do that if possible!
I'm finding my legs and arms are getting bigger and the TANITA is confirming i'm loosing fat there (slowly) and gaining muscle, but nothing is happening around my stomach :'(
Is what i'm doing right or is there a better way? I feel like i'm putting all the effort in but just doing it all wrong.
I'm lucky that i have alot of will power when it comes to exercise and eating and have managed to keep it up for 2 years before - i got myself a personal trainer and started kickboxing with a personal trainer. But now i just don't have the time to do all of that and i really just want to loose this fat around my stomach i've acumulated from eating rubish the last 6 months!
HELP
