exercises for a thinner waist??

Hello!!
I have got an exercise plan but I want to focus on getting my waist more "clinched" so I have more of an out in hourglass shape. I once read you can alter the shape of it...are there special exercises to help or does overall weight loss help?
I once had a routine doing the "side plank" every day but I didn't really notice any difference...or is doing too much side ab exercises just going to make me muscley and bulk out there (NOT what i want, I don't want to look like jillian micheals!)

You can't spot reduce fat. The only thing that will slim up your waist is to lose fat all over your body and wait for it to come off of your waist. You can help tighten the muscle underneath the fat by exercising your core - that's more than just crunches or planks. Check out the sticky posts in the exercise area for good information on exercises that work all your core muscles.

I am Aaren I want to suggest you that side aibs exercise is most useful exercise for the thinner waist. You have to do this exercise for some time you will be got better result.
