Exercise Videos/DVD

I like Tae Bo... a lot, because Billy Banks keeps you moving. If you go to his website, he has a whole bunch of different DVDs to pick from. Some are a lot more intense than others.

I use the Ministry of Sound "Pump It Up" DVDs... they are great for me because they are a bit dancy, (which I find more fun) and they are set to dance music which is definately my sort of music. It keeps me going throughout. I would say they are of medium intensity though, so maybe better for a while after you've started doing some excercise rather than as a first DVD to try.

-Turbo Jam (the music isn't fantastic, but it has stuck in my head, and I sing it sometimes and my mood lifts)
-Tae bo (pushes you beyond your limits. Hard, but after the workout is over you feel soooo proud....and powerful too.
-Cindy Crawford (the second DVD really makes your legs burn, the first DVD looks like you'll need to modify for safety and the third DVD is the easiest and has the best music.)

Those are my favourites.

I enjoy the Quick Fix series - 10 minute workouts, which sound horrible but you usually string 3 or 4 of them together for a good solid workout. I like Quick Fix Kick (3/4 x 10 min) + Quick Fix Hip Hop (for the warmup, cooldown because it's fun).

I've got great results with these - starting off with Quick Fix regime, to motivate i.e. "It's only 10 minutes" .. "Aww .. okay, I'll do another one." .. for about 2 months. Then I moved on to Minna Lessig's Optimizer Balanced Blend. I've gotten amazing results with this on a 1 - 2 month run. Ditto with Cindy Crawford's Shape Your Body (the 1st one), which like most say has some safety issues but if you listen to your body and know what to not do .. it's an amazing workout.

I also like kickboxing, not Taebo though - most of Janis Saffell's stuff is good - inclusive of Quick Fix Kick. And the Tai Chi fusion workout is really really good.

Recently, have gotten the Ripped workouts - Get Ripped, Get Ripped To The Core etc. These are more strength-based workouts .. so will look forward to getting a routine down.

If you can find it, I have a really old Jane Fonda workout called Light Aerobics and Relaxation that is GREAT. It's from 1988, and I got my copy used on amazon. Once you get past the hideous 80s workout outfits, it's a great 20-minute routine.

I also have one Denise Austin video that's not too bad, also called Light Aerobics.

And, if you like dancing, go for Richard Simmons's Disco Sweat!

Love this DVD

I use the Piladio DVD-Kickbox Pilates. It's a mix of Pilates and cardio and really gives me a great overall workout. The instructor is easy to follow and there are 5 different workouts on the DVD so I don't get bored. (piladio.com)
I have lost a few lbs with it and have definitely noticed definition in my abs--finally starting to get rid of that lower ab-fat :)

I just got this DVD too. Piladio is a lot of fun it's great because the DVD gives you 5 different workouts so you can have a different workout each day. I"ve never done Pilates before but it was easy to follow along to--and I've never felt my abs like that. I love cardio kickboxing...anyone else who does-i recommend Piladio.

Jane Fonda's book that was out years ago (complete with pictures of bizarro spandex outfitsand legwarmers) wasa brutal workout -feel the burn was exactly right :D

Hi guys! My favorite as of late is Yoga Booty Ballet- I love dancing, so it doesn't feel like working out so much as just having fun. (The ballet sections really tone the booty too!!!) I also like doing Power90 for sculpting. Also fun are the Crunch series- there are a few weight lifting and dance videos that I pop in here and there. Slim in 6 is on its way- I'll let you know what I think!

I also own Piladio Kickbox Pilates. I started seeing results after a few times doing the full workout. The workout is fun and it's good because with the different workouts on it, it keeps my body guessing which is great for weight loss. I was pretty new to Pilates but love what it does for my core. I think Piladio is a great workout method. Definitely my favorite DVD.

Question about online exercise videos

Ok, so I'm just starting to workout. I'm not ready to join a gym yet and I have no equipment at home. I was just wondering if any of you know of some good exercise videos that are available on the internet. Preferably free lol

Excercise Videos

Ok I go to the Gym 5 days a week on my lunch hr (the gym is at work) however I cant go on the week end it is closed I am looking for an easy excercise video that will make you sweat but is not hard to learn (I am not very coordinated) I bought a yoga for beginners dvd but it was awful I guess yoga is not for me I want something fun and fast paced but not so fast that the novice person cant learn it Any reccomendations ?

probably something that will teach you the steps slowly and then goes in to a routine I go to kickboxing and other classes at the gym but I look like I have 2 left feet . I am so uncoordinated :blush5: so i would have to do it over and over again until I get it right

Found this cool site - they do exercise video downloads
