Hi everyone, this is only my second post, and I am trying to read all of the recommended materials but I wanted to go ahead see what people think of my current regiments.
24 Years old
5'10" 216 lbs (Just weighed)
Bodyfat unknown (about a 37" waistline according to my pants.)
Pelvic/Stomach area is main area of fat.
I had been hoping to post pictures with this message, but don't have the cable for the camera right now.
My goal is to be < or =190lbs. I have to meet the Height/Weight requirements in order to join the Air Force.
My first goal is to lose the weight, then to prepare for basic. I have started a radical diet that I kind of pieced together from various sources and books I have read. I started it Feb 2 and have already noticed a considerable boost in energy.
It includes:
No meat except fish and possibly lamb
All vegetable except starches like corn, potatoes. Mostly eating the green ones.
No processed sugar.
No dairy or very limited amounts.
Eat most fruits, sugary fruits are eaten in morning, less sugary/higher fiber fruits eaten at night.
I eat boiled eggs, unsalted roasted Planters peanuts, and plain almonds for protein.
I drink fresh well water, green tea w/ pomengranate in the morning, and chamomile tea at night. Drinking around 1/2 to 2/3 Gal of water a day.
I take Life Grocery Men's Multi vitamins, Glucosamine/MSM for my crackly knees, and Yerba Prima Daily Fiber twice a day.
My exercises I am a little less sure about. I had Weights in High School, and follow most of the stretching exercises I learned there.
I have a weight bench (but no bench press bar), two free hand weights ranging from 10lbs to 100, been (trying to) jumprope for 3-5 min twice a day.
I make myself jog about a 1/2 mile without stopping (which resulted in nice sore legs the first day, lol), followed by a walking cooldown.
I plan to be running around 2 miles per day minimum in the near future.
I am working on sit-ups, I don't really count them, just do them until I can't anymore.
Pushups I do the diamond hand, then normal, then wide grip until I can't do them anymore. I have a pullup bar which sadly I can barely do 5 of.
I will be riding my bike and running more as soon as if it freaking stops raining.
I am trying to figure out what to do with exercise. Honestly I just do random things I remember, but I feel like a lot of it is for building muscle not burning fat. I will be reading about it and researching this more today, I just felt it was necessary to say what I am currently doing. I have already lost 2lbs in three days, but I'm not sure if that is just because of the fiber, lol.
Thanks for reading, I look forward to hearing from you.
Daniel.
