Exercise for the lower stomach?

Exercise is the most important part to reduce fat yoga is a best exercises to lose tummy fat.and walking is a good exercise do your exercise daily in 30 minutes. healthy diet is most important to your reduce weight.

Thanks for everyones input.

I do have a varied exercise programme and do thing like reverse crunches, squats, deadlifts etc twice a week on the days I do weights.

The exercise has made a difference but I think people have hit the nail on the head with the fat % point. Although my BMI is now down to just in the normal range my BF % is too high and I suspect this willbe the last place it goes from!

Ijustwannabefit - no kids no, god knows what state i'll be in after that! I've heard of that exercise, my mum has a ball I couldborrow, will give it a go!

again...not true. Sit ups will help your muscles in your stomach. It will not get rid of body fat.

*edit*

"Are you trying to lose that annoying Belly Fat? I'm sure you have heard that sit-ups and crunches are the way to do it, because those exercises make use of the abdominal muscles. However while it is absolutely true that sit-ups will strengthen the abdominal muscles and make you stronger in that area, and you may look thinner because your improved muscles hold in the fat better, this does not actually reduce belly fat in itself."

you can lose weight from stomach with the help of sit ups. because sit ups exercise is best for reducing weight from stomach.

I agree with Korrie that this is absolutely wrong. You can build abdominal strength by doing sit-ups, but you cannot burn fat from the stomach by doing sit-ups.

Also, sit-ups are not a recommended exercise for most people... Crunches are recommended over sit-ups for building abdominal strength.

Haha i dont hate you but i am already doing all of that and yes i am losing weight and toning - everywhere except there!

Even when my BMI was 21 (it's now 25.3) i still had a bump at my lower stomach. I think that is just where i carry the fat - i cannot diet till i lose it all, i'd look anorexic!

I'm late answering this one, but maybe you still check in or this'll be useful to someone else in the future. (forgive the *bump*)

I too have the dreaded female-pooch. What's helping me (besides building muscle and losing fat) is really focusing on my back and posture. While I love sit-ups (don't judge), it's been sitting on an exercise ball through the day, regular stretching before and after workouts and other things targeting my spinal erectors that have made a difference for me. Like Lilith mentioned - 'strengthening the core', but with a focus on dropping my shoulders, straightening the spine and sitting forward on my sit-bones (what are those called?) instead of curled back on my tailbone.

I'll always have the pooch (currently trying to I'm de-brainwash myself into loving this as a normal and sexy part of a woman's body), but focusing on my posture and back strength has made a visible difference in the... poochness... :blush5: Meh, you know what I mean, I'm sure.

(g'damnit. pooch is not a word!)

thanks for clearing it up Korrie :p, now I've learned something new.
