Excellent Book

I have just finished reading The Metabolism Advantage by John Berardi and I have to reccomend it to everyone on this board. It is an excercise book focused mainly on the importance of diet and meal timing to boost your metabolism. I thought I was pretty smart about my diet and everything to do with it but this book really did teach me a lot. Also it has a lot of great recipes! Check it out and let me know what ya guys think.

How many pages?

I ask because i am already reading a number of other books right now, so if its rather small (under 300 or so pages) and cheap, i might check it out.

Check your library for it. I was perusing at our local metro library and they had it on the shelf along with The New Rules of Lifting.

I second the recommendation. John Berardi knows his ****, so far as the extent of current knowledge allows, anyway.

Common sense alone would tell you that a man who actually practices what he preaches is a better advisor than one whose knowledge is theoretical. Meaning, a skinny, unhealthy lab coat or a fat old person are not "health experts" I'd take too seriously. ;)

Ditto. I checked out NROL from my library, however since you actually have to return them, I bought it on Amazon for $12 for future reference and the programs. In addition I went ahead and purchased MA for an additional $16. Still hasnt arrived yet however.

I keep hearing about Berardi, and have been interested in getting "Gourmet Nutrition" for a while, but the price tag for a pdf file, not a physical book, has been offputting.

I think you get a hard copy of Gourmet Nutrition if you buy his complete system.
Berardi knows his stuff...but if you can comprehend what he says in his reasonably priced books, and his free articles, you can pretty much design your own program.
His program is for those people who just really have to be spoonfed what to do.

Do any of you have/know how to get a hard copy of Gourmet Nutrition. I have heard great things but I am not spending twenty bucks for an internet book. Everyone read up on the other book and let me know what ya think. It's not too long.

I see, thanks for the clarification. And anyone just looking at this thread read the book on the top it has a ton of information on diet, which is 80% of your total fitness so ya might want to check it out.
