Hi !!!:waving:

Another newcomer here --- or rather ex lurker ... I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts so much I decided to take the plunge and post too!

I aim to also start a journal here to help with motivation ... hopefully I will not bore anyone to death with my burbling nonsense though!

I have a looooong history of yo-yo weight gain and loss, but am hoping this time to really make a go of it once and for all.

My aim is to get down to 120 pounds (I currently weigh 163) and hopefully with diet and exercise I will reach that goal. :hurray:

I am a great fan of Covert Bailey and his philosophy that a fair amount of sustained aerobic exercise every day is vital for weight loss and general well being.

Having coming off (or on?) the wagon a while ago in terms of exercise, I am now back with a vengeance!!

Exercise makes me feel fantastic, so luckily I see it as an real treat as opposed to a weight loss torture device ... most of the time anyway!! so I am working out every day for at least 45 mins/1 hour using fitness DVDs at the mo.
My ultimate goal is to go out jogging again like I used to years ago -- right now I feel too self conscious to do that :piggy:

Anyway, a big hi out to everyone out there and best of luck to all of us on our journey!!! :cheers2:

lol thats my eventual goal too... the jogging/running outside where everyone can see =D
i was also a longtime lurker =P i really love the site... you make alot of real friends who can totally empathize with your situation... good luck!! i will see you around the forum^^

Hey there Sophia and welcome (I guess even though you've already been here)! lol.

Working out is an awesome feeling isn't it?! I love it too. And then when you're eating better and not always feeling bloated and fat, it feels even better! haha.

Good luck and we can do it! :D

Thanks Angelica and Michelley :) :hug2: it feels so much better knowing we're all in the same boat somehow.

I am glad you know what I mean Angelica about the jogging outside; I just can't bring myself to subject those poor people out there, to the sight of my giant wobbly hips and thighs. gross !!

I need to be a lot slimmer before I am confident enough to do that. I miss jogging so much ---- it gave me such a massive endorphin high, it was like a drug!!:sifone:

And yep, Michelley, I agree about not working out making you feel awful ... if I don't work out, I feel all slobby and headachy and ugly, like some creaking-boned unflexible creep. Haha.

I've started a diary and hope that will help me.

See you for sure around the boards -- so much to read and gain inspiration from on here, it's a fantastic site. :) :) Thanks again guys :)

I know it! I still feel that way about this site, as I'm relatively a new comer also.

I told myself that I would join a kickboxing class or something, because I've always wanted to, but I can't bring myself to doing it until I lose at least 30 more lbs. lol. Sounds crazy but I think I would feel more comfortably working out with others at that size.

Either way, we're getting there! :)

I'll be stopping by your journal someday. I usually have a lot of down time to putz around at work.

Yeah, it's always a bit intimidating at the gym for that reason and I totally relate.

Likewise I need to slim down before I can get out there jogging - not only because I feel people will feel physically ill seeing me (ha just kidding!! but only just... !! ) but also my joints won't like me very much with all the extra weight.
Right now, I am keeping myself safely indoors and out of sight while I sweat and work at it !! :Angel_anim: I used to be able to run for over an hour -- happy memories !! I hope you do eventually reach your aim and get to kickboxing class as that can be great fun and excellent for keeping fit. :)

Thanks! I appreciate it. And likewise I hope you will be comfortable running outside like back in the good ole days. :) hahaha.

Take care!
