Encouragment...

Ive been losing weight now for a little over 4 months, ive dropped about 54 pounds. My stomach hasnt come down much at all yet, im kinda getting to a point where im worried the skin wont go back to the normal way it should look after getting up to 240lbs... im now 186. My target weight for my height (5'6) is around 160 im told. Any one have any experience with losing this much weight and the afterwards results? I know i will never get rid of stretch marks, i just dont want to have loose skin and have to resort to some kind of plastic surgery to remove it. My stomach still slightly hangs down, i would have thought after 50lbs that would start to be reduced. Any advice please.. words of encouragement... personal experiences... please.. I could post before/after pics but i personally dont see that much of a difference, i guess its bc im looking for the final results and cant see the intermediary results.

Well you lost that weight at almost 4 pounds a week. When you lose weight that fast it can take time for the skin to catch up a little.

More than likely though you lost alot of muscle with some of that fat. Muscle helps give shape and "tone" to the body. What kind of strength training have you been doing and what has your diet been like and caloric intake?

I have been strength training 3 days a week with a personal trainer. My diet is a calorie deficit but im eating like 50-60% protein and 20-30% carb and 10-20% fats. I am also doing cardio about 4-5x a week for an hour. I dont think ive lost a lot of muscle bc of the strength training im doing, i actually notice a difference in my arms as far as muscle is concerned. I just dont see the weight coming off my stomach and dont want it to be like how it is forever even after i lose all the weight. I know i have 30 more lbs to lose.Im worried it wont go away regardless...

Many people find that the abdomen is one of the last places they see weight loss, especially in women. When you lose 30 more pounds, chances are good that you will see loss in your abdomen.

You have come a very long way and should be proud of yourself. Continue with your exercise program and stay on top of what you eat, and you'll be fine. If you find that you have excess skin when you reach your goal weight, you might could look into a skin donor program for burn victims in your area. I don't know how wide spread that is, but I have heard that some places can do that.
