Hiya everyone!

I'm Emma and I'm 25, from Coventry, UK.

I've just started my weight loss/nutrition/fitness journey and I could use some help and friends along the way :)

I've just started to work out 3 times a week, from previously doing nothing at all! 2 zumba classes and one session with a personal trainer. I want to start incorporating more exercise by going to the gym every other night.

I'm a vegetarian and I'm trying to implement changes in my diet as suggested by my trainer - but I'm still a bit clueless! Never used to feed myself properly, lived off pizza, chips, crisps, choclolate, cakes, etc etc - yuk!

I'm 5ft 4" and weigh around 175lbs....officially obese! :(

Hoping to 'meet' lots of you soon!

No you are not obese, but you could easy get there if you don't change. About three years back I weighed one pound more then you do now and my height is 5' 3" 3/4 I say 5' 4" to round it off. This morning I weigh 150 I have just been watching portion size and WW's points. This week I have been trying the slim fast diet, and it works, but if you don't stay with drinking the slim fast your weight goes back up. :)

Welcome to the WLF!

Hi AnnaGail - well done on your weight loss thats awesome! Hopefully I can come back in a few months/years time and be where you're at now :)

I tried slimming world before and lost a 16lbs on it, but gave up and it all piled back on -and more!

Tried Slim Fast before but I get so hungry on it!

Tried Lipotrim (a very low calorie total meal replacement programme) and lasted 2 days on it till I nearly passed out lol.

So now I'm trying to forget all that and go back to basics healthy eating - whole grain carbs balanced with protein, good fats and lots of fruit & veg, whilst working out regularly. Hope it works!

it sounds like your diet isn't too bad although i generally don't support vegetarianism as I think we're meant to eat meat.

You should look into calorie counting, if you can maintain a slight calorie deficit then between your already good diet and exercise it should be easy to lose weight.

Hello,

Good on you for working out 3 times a wk. I'm struggling with motivation etc as well so it will be great if we could help each other out.

I don't eat a lot of meat, infact i only eat meat twice a week, the rest of my evening meals are veggie based. I use a lot of quorn mince and quorn chicken bits which i use to make chili, spaghetti bolongnese or ckn curry's etc so if you need some meal ideas gimme a shout xx

Hi Ski bunny!

Thanks for offwer of helping me with recipes! That would be a great help. I'll try and pop on here as often as I can to help with mutual motivation, though i don't often get time to come online as you can tell by the frequency of my posts lol

Will try and set aside more time...Thank you for the warm welcomes!

When I tried the slim fast, I wasn't getting my daily points that I had gotten from weight watchers diet, so I ate enough to make up the difference. To me it is better to just eat healthy a little at each meal and watch portion size and cut out the junk. Now I can pretty much eat what I want!! And I am losing. Granola bars and sweet freedom fudge bars replaced my junk food and I eat a lot of fruit & veggies. I am walking two miles a day. Today I weigh 148.2.
