Emil Åman

Hey guys!

My name is Emil Åman, i live in the northern parts of sweden. Im a 27 year old male and i have the wierdest body imaginable. Please note that im not using the US measuring system(s) where i live so i might be translating it wrong :)

Anyways, ive been very active in sports through all of my youth, Started off with Hockey when i was 8 years old, when i turned 12 i started moving from hockey to Track and Field practice, mainly long distance running but i always prefered the intense short dash :) after that i got heavily into Floorball, and im not surprised if you guys havnt heard of it.

I practiced at an elite level, with 2-3hours of training every day 6 days a week, at the very end when i was the most active i practiced 4 hours per day with 3 different teams, making sunday the 7th and final day the hardest, with upwards of 3 official matches spread throughout the day.. i was very happy couse i really enjoyed it.

But then the fatefull day came where i accidently ran my moped into a lamppost by the side of the road, smashing my kneecap. My training days where over.

I got something called schlatters disease, and that together with the bone breaking made it almost unbearable to even stand for longer durations.

at that point my life was shattered, all i knew was training tirelessly days on end (when not in school ofc). Thats when i found computers where i could spend the same amount of effort, without actually being in pain.

And that has been my life since then, i work part time and i played a multitude of games at varying levels. But now i have decided to make a change in my life, i have been to a doctor that has cleared my knee, so with a knee support i can do most of the training i used to.

I know my knee cant handle anymore floorball so i have decided on a new, well. dont know if you can call it a sport.. but my father is a accomplished Iron Man competitor, and i have decided to pulverize him :D

well, hope i didnt bore you to death with this introduction

I have not long written a short blog how the body can useful nearological effects to aid recovery. Have a look if you get a chance. Basically, if your knee is weak and you havent done much, start doing a few exercises for your oppisite leg and strengthen it, automatically your body starts to strengthen your injured leg and can help you get some strength to really get back into training. Hope that's a small help. Maybe something like leg extensions on your good leg.
