Embarassing Moments?

Hi,

You poor thing. I have always feared that would happen to me, in public... I'm glad you're not seriously injured.

Sprite,

Last week while running on the treadmill my towel fell just next to the actual belt. Fearing it would get caught by the belt, and not wanting to stop my workout I slowed down to a jog... tried to bend down quickly and toss it aside. Not enough time, I was almost on my way through the wall when I grabbed both sides of the treadmill and lifted myself up off the belt in the nick of time. There was two other people in the room, my landlady, and a woman I've had my eye on for awhile, thankfully she never saw my jerry lewis-esque performance. My landlady thought it was pretty funny though!

I was walking down the raod with my mp3 player loud, kind of strutting for a hot guy driving by. We're making eye contact, smile.. just a little drive by flirting..... when I trip on a crack in the sidewalk, drop the mp3 player, damn near fall on my face & I then burst into flames & died..lol.

And I lost my favorite green iPod sock :(

LOL. These make me feel so much better, especially mike's treadmill story as it's close to home. :D

one time when i first was starting to diet and get into exercising....I finally got up the courage to go to our local pool....where i had not been in years due to swimsuit phobia.........so walking out of the locker room to where the pool is i slipped and fell on my ass, tons of people there.... i wanted to die and getting up was just as humiliating as falling, i was slipping and not getting my balance finally i scrambled into the pool and tryed to disapper in a corner, with my butt all hurt and briused............oye that sucked!!!

We all know that one!! I still hate the sight of myself in my swimsuit now, but I remind myself it's for a good cause. (It doesn't help that somebody I used to go to school with has recently popped up as a lifeguard and seems to be there EVERY time I go. )

Its very cheering to think of you overcoming s-suit phobia.
Theres a fabulously huge pool about 15 mins drive away - but a gal who knew me and
put me down when she could (dunno why), in the days when I was as fit, slim and jumpy as a young rabbit, used to run the place as some kind of boss. She prob still does.
The idea of that lady overseeing my now lumpy form, in a cheapo swimsuit, floundering like a whale in a shallow river, and knowing the kinds of things she'd be thinking and saying, ...I cant do it.
But swimming is SO good for shaping up..
need courage.

I don't have a really funny story yet (I'm sure I will eventually) but a couple of weeks ago I saw a girl nearly tip a stair stepper onto herself. It was one of those escalator-esque types that are really tall and you are supposed to stay nearer to the top than the bottom. She was slogging along on the bottom step with her hands near the top of the machine (so her arms were almost straight up over her head) when she missed a step and nearly tipped the thing down on top of herself. Nobody laughed though. That girl is there nearly every day busting her ass, I just think she's pushing herself a little too hard. I've seen her nearly fall off the elliptical too because she goes too fast.

I guess the most amusing gym mishap I've had is when I lost my grip on a 10lb weight and it hit me in the crotch on the way down (I'm female). Left a MASSIVE bruise. Ouch!

embarrassing mishap

I've run through the city and out to a children's park along the highway before I realised that my top wasn't put on properly and one half of my mesh (therefore, see through) sports bra was showing. I like to think I ran so fast that no one saw....

My towel fell off once onto the treadmill and I reached down to grab it and heard a woman behind me gasp thinking I was going next.

She did not anticipate my cat like reflexes.

I'm a big guy so it must have looked pretty scary.

well, there are so many! i would like to share them but some of them are way too embarrassing....

lol this has been an entertaining read...
my embarrassing moment is a drunken one...
My husband was sort of telling me that I couldnt have a treadmill (or maybe not yet I'm not sure... he says he never told me i couldnt have one) well I had already decided no wasn't an option. i want one, i'm getting one, i never ask for anything this was the one thing i wanted... anyway in my drunken rage i decided i was going to say F YOU I'm just going to go run outside in the freezing cold where it was very snowy and very slippery, with a whole "you cant hold me back" attitude. did i mention this was new years eve just before 12? I had no concept of what time it was lol
well i had finally gotten all suited up with my fuck you attitude in tact, i had my mp3 player and out i went... i hadnt even started running yet when i slip and nearly fell but lickily i cought myself... it was so cold even trying to run hurt my lungs... i ended comming back like 20 minutes later feeling like i had successfully proven my point/dedication. it wasn't until the next day that i felt so incredibly stupid lol
during this whole spell i wrote in my old journal and have since been too embarrassed with my overly dramatic declaration that i have never gone back and read over what i wrote... and of course doesnt my husband go about telling EVERYONE about it for the next few days until i was like WHY ARE YOU TELLING EVERYONE!?:willy_nilly:

Motherof2 I lol-ed at that! Oh the things we do whilst intoxicated :willy_nilly:

A while ago I was on a treadmill and had my ipod in the water bottle holder. I was going about 7mph and somehow the headphone cord got snagged on my hand and my iPod flipped out of it and fell between my feet (at the same mileage!) and flew a couple feet behind the treadmill :svengo: it was really embarrassing and I was panicking because I thought my 400$ gadget was ruined...but fortunately it was still working just fine!

And...that incident has happened twice more x.X and it's still in perfect condition xD

At the end of a work-out I was stretching in the back of my gym and doing crunches, push-ups, and stuff with a medicine ball.

I'm not sure what the movement is called, but basically I sit on the ground with my legs up in he air, crossed, while I go left to right with my arms while holding a 10 pound medicine ball. It gets my abs really good.

I guess the angle of my body created a little too much pressue :-X. I let out a huge loud ripping fart hahaha. I just froze and this hot guy I always see at the gym turned around and looked at me funny. I just gathered my things and left immediately. It was really loud!

LOL! why is there always a hot guy? lol its like they are conveniently placed everywhere just in case something like THAT happens... then of course when your at the top of your game where are they? probably witnessing some other poor girl embarass themselves :willy_nilly:

I was working out in my parent's basement once, alone. I was near the end of my routine, so I was finishing up with bench presses. That day, my arms were really tired (no, not from that), and it made it very hard to finish my set. As I pushed the weight up and got my arms straightened out, I noticed that I didn't have ANY strength left. Since I was working out alone, I didn't have a spotter, so I had to make a quick decision.

I knew that it would be a very bad idea to let the weight of the bar fall on my head or anywhere near my neck. I also knew that it would be a very bad idea to let the weight of the bar fall on my chest. So, I came up with the idea to pull my arms down towards the middle of my body as the bar fell, hoping that my stomach would ease the blow. Well, the weight came down my stomach a lot harder than I thought and the pressure of the bar falling on my stomach actually made me poop a little.

HAHAHA, no, that didn't really happen, but wouldn't it be awesome if it did?
