Eliminating flab.. tips and tricks?

hello friends. let me start off by saying i'm a 19yo female and (5'5", 108lbs)
obviously, body fat percentage is my main issue. I was wondering, is a fair amount of cardio absolutely required (in my case) to see any change in my shape ? I'm sure this is a silly obvious question but i'm out of shape and naive.
also, is shadowboxing with 5lb weights a good idea to tone the upper arm area? this is probably my biggest problem area.

To change your shape you need to lose fat and add muscle. To lose fat you need to burn off more calories than you take in. Spot reduction is a myth. Working your arms will not necessarily burn fat from your arms. Your body chooses where it will lose fat from. Typically the last place you gain fat is the first place you lose it from. For guys we hang onto our guts longest. For gals, typically it's the butt and thighs. A combination of weight training, cardio, a clean diet, and getting enough rest is the key.

have you tried cayenne pepper? if not try it, it has a thermol effect inside your body and can help burn more calories while you are training.

Cardio is very important, but not essential for fat loss. If you're just trying to lower you body fat percentage it's imperative that your eating habits reflect that sort of goal. One of the most common areas that people can improve is their sugar intake so you might want to start monitoring that to start off. And yes, targetted weight loss isn't realistic, but your shadowboxing is only helping you!

Agree 10000000000% on the sugar issue. Sugar is the devil, Bobby.
