Electric Legs ?

Ok ... forgive my ignorance ... this is probably something I should already understand.
But I must admit that I don't know what's going on, or if it's normal, etc.

When I work out - as soon as I'm done with my workout I feel "electricity" in my muscles. Like little sparks all over my legs, etc. And it is mostly in my LEGS.
What's the deal with that ? Is that normal ? Does it MEAN anything ?

I get that sometimes too. Sort of a tingling feeling in my legs... Especially in my thighs. I always just assumed it was the blood flowing or my muscles being tired. Pretty sure its normal unless it continues for a really long time or is painful.

Yeah - a tingling, shocky feeling. Pretty much just in my legs and thighs. Directly after I had a hard workout.

Mine doesn't get painful. ANd it doesn't continue for a long period of time. It usually goes away within like 5 min. or something.

I just thought it was weird that I never noticed anything like this before (although it could simply be JUST that - I didn't notice it until now). And was just curious what it means. If it's normal.

The tingling you are experiencing is not increased blood flow. It is a nerve pinch in your spinal cord that runs down your leg from the impact of the exercise.

Once you lose weight it will go away (unless there is a more serious medical issue at hand). I personally have never experienced this but it is a common ailment in clients with an appreciable amount of weight to lose who are sedentary.

Thanks ! That helps. I have approx 35lbs - 40lbs to lose to be within my weight range (according to what's healthy for my height) but WANT to lost approx 50lbs. So I suppose that would be an "appreciable amount of weight to lose." I'm not all THAT sedentary though. For about 5 months now I've been doing ALOT of exercise. However - 2 of those months I "fell off the wagon" and wasn't exercising that much. So I should say that a total of 3 months of exercise. For instance, right now I walk/jog approx 5 miles a day - 5 days a week. And I also do toning exercises 3-5 days per week with weights. Plus some days I also ride my stationary bike. ANd in between exercise - I am normally cleaning, or chasing after my 3yr old. Plus I have a small farm and do farm work everyday. The most I might be sedentary is for about 2-3 hrs per day at the most - for instance when I'm on here, or if I sit down to relax in the evening.

what the heck are you guys talking about. Ive done seasons of football training , ive been a sprinter, and also have been a power lifter, Ive killed my legs to an an extent that most have never pushed themselves. and never have i felt like that. hurt and pain yes but electricity stuff? that would make me question something, enough to see a doctor about that.
