Effortless weightloss ?

Stepped on the scales yesterday, from going back to weight loss three-four weeks ago I'm down 4-5lbs on my scales(8lbs on gym scales, that's not consistent though...
So now I'm standing at 172lbs, 22.1BMI :) Which is pretty nice, to say I've not been able to put in the effort as much with my training due to revision.
But, when I'm sitting my gut bulges a bit... (I'll try and get my camera working) and I'm pretty stuck at what to do about it! I'm pretty sure someone of my BMI shouldn't tend to have this bad ?

Typical, my mums boyfriends put my camera cable somewhere, not got a clue where and my phone cables lost too... I'll look later

Your posture and/or a weak core could be causing you to feel like your gut is hanging out. Swap your chair for an exercise ball/BalanceBall. Keep your chair nearby though, because you may not be able to sit the ball all day at first.

In addition, do some exercises to strengthen your core. Pilates particularly targets the core, though yoga (which I swear by) and swimming are also good.

I've actually worked on my posture when standing, that's not so bad, but it's just when I'm sitting(Which is anytime I'm not at the gym, really) So, that might be one cause ?
Balanceball ? Might try that... I'll look into it a bit :)
If I'm doing weight training to gain muscle after I've cut my body fat down just a bit more, won't yoga provoke injuries ?

Cheers :)

I do yoga/pilates (sometimes one sometimes both) once a week. And I am attempting to build some muscles here, too. I am not aware of yoga and weight lifting together causing a higher risk of injury. Yoga is definitely stretching the muscles, but I dont think it would be bad to encorporate yoga. I'd just make sure to properly stretch after lifting, too. Not stretching after lifting, in my opinion, would increase risk of injury than adding yoga would.

I'm actually stretching before HIIT now, I might add it to all sessions after I get a chance to look it up (I make sure that any changes to diet/training are actually for the better)
I don't see the point of doing muscle building ecersices when on a calorie defeceit though, is this stupid ?

Well, for me, I enjoy lifting weights. It might be more helpful if I wasn't in a calorie deficit, but I feel better so if all I'm doing is maintaining muscle during this time of calorie deficit, then that's fine with me :). Though, my calorie deficit is minimal because I don't have much to loose and plan to loose very slowly because of my past issues.

I do lift weights :) But I don't see the point in doing abs for example because I'm in a defeceit, and since I'm losing a bit too fast I think I need to be in less of a defeceit!
I'm really not sure what it is I should do now, I'm really lacking lean mass which I plan to sort out when I'm back off my week away in 3 weeks, but I still feel a bit to flabby in places... I'm a vain little bag of hormones at 17, last thing I want ;)
But my mid term goal is abs by christmas anyways I guess, easily done for my weight.

I'm the same BMI as you and I get flab bulging out when I'm sitting down too. I think it probably is to be expected of someone with our BMI... unless they're reeaally muscly. I'm just trying to lose weight and see if that helps.

BMI is not an indicator that will explain how much abdominal subcateous fat you should have.

Just b/c you are X BMI means very little in terms of body fat %.

You want to lose the gut. Lose the fat.

That I understand, I only use BMI as a standard measure everyone can relate to really...
But, I'm just worried about loose skin (Is probably just fat more than anything)
Don't comment on how hairy I am ;)

Actually looking at these I do have plenty to lose still... But I even have gym instructors telling me to stop dropping. (33" waist)

It does look like it is loose skin. I can't tell you for sure because I'm not a professional, but what my doctor told me was that I was at least 15 lbs of lose skin. I'm sure your not that much, but when you lose a large amount of weight that can happen. Did you do weight training and core work when you were trying to lose weight? I know because I lost 80 lbs in about 3 months I was a lot of skin. Just really work on it.

50lbs in 4-5months doing weight training, starting off a stupidly low calorie diet, some cardio too. What is core work anyways ?
What I've been told is hold the skin between two fingers, and if it's thick it's most likely fat, if it's thin like on the back of your hand, it's loose (Hence why I pinched it)
I might go to the doctors again, but last time I just got told not to lose anymore than a couple of pounds more (Was 198lbs roughly then) And my skin wasn't addressed.

Core work is like ab work. I find thats a good way to tighten skin if you have it. Oh and thats right if its thick then it is probably fat. Skin you can pull really far. It's really disgusting. Let me know how the doctors go.

Hmmm see I'm not doing any abs work directly, but I guess I might while I'm away, I was planning to more when I hit 10%bf and I start to bulk up.

169lbs 19%bf 6"2, any estimations on how long ? I was thinking 2months, 3months to overshoot ?

EDIT: And, doctors... Not sure if I'm going to bother, I find them useless when it comes to this stuff, when I was still at 198lbs he told me only to lose another 2-3lbs, now 20 down I still need to drop..
