Eating Out

Flares

I've known my room mate for about four years now, and we have this sort of obligation to spend time together daily. It's worked out and has formed a great friendship. He's a great friend.

For several years now, we've gone out to dinner. It normally happens once or twice a week. Whenever he offers, for some reason, I feel obligated to go out with him to the point where I feel guilty if I was to say no.

Our dinner choices normally put me over my budget, of course, although I've been able to settle 10 times out of 10 with diet coke or water which helps, just not enough. These dinners still probably have seven hundred to even fifteen hundred calories in them.

I always come down with this rationale that it's just one dinner, I can have a cheat night. But then I end up going out with him two nights later.

Does anyone have some lower-calorie suggestions for going out with friends and family? I'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere ,but I was unable to find one and search times out for me.

Thanks

I don't get it....

Pretty much any restaurant is going to have lower calorie options. I mean, use commonsense. Instead of fried chicken get grilled. Instead of a pitcher of beer, get water. Instead of a side of fried veggies with butter, get steamed without. Etcetera, etcetera.

Just b/c you go out to eat doesn't mean you have to totally destroy your caloric goals.
