So let me throw out a question here. From what I've read, one should be in a caloric deficit in a cutting phase and a surplus in a bulking phase. Then there are tons of threads about the possibility of burning fat while gaining muscle and the general consensus is that while it's possible, it's very unlikely.
Now my question is, if one were to calculate their current required caloric intake for maintenance(of their current weight) and eat this amount daily going forward while doing weight training, cardio, etc, wouldn't your body simutaneously shed fat while gaining muscle as opposed to the result of leading a sedentary lifestyle while eating @ maintenance? Would this not be viable alternative option to the common bulk then cut routine? If I'm not mistaken, from what I've read, eating at maintenance means your weight stays the same so if one were to incorporate exercise into the equation, I can't imagine any other outcome.
