Hello,

I'm on a mission to LOSE weight. I've hired a trainer and have completely changed the way I eat. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly, everyone has a different way to lose weight. Here is an average day for me:

Breakfast: A protein shake OR oatmeal/ with 3 hardboiled eggs (no yolk)

Snack: an apple or some kind of fruit and/or a protein bar OR a 90 cal wheat
snack pack thing

Lunch: Chicken breast with veggies OR a lean cusine

Snack: hard boiled eggs Or some turkey OR a yogurt

Dinner: 4 oz. salmon and veggies OR chicken and veggies

I try to eat 6 times a day are atleast snack on an apple inbetween meals while at work all day.

I've been working with a trainer 3 days a week. We do cardio and weight lifting. I've been doing this for 2 weeks , yes I know this is not a LONG time, but honestly for the drastic change I've made...I feel no different. Is there something I can be doing better?

I appreciate ANY help, thank you!!

What's your stats? (age, weight, height, sex, total daily caloric consumption... etc.)

Read the stickied threads, read the info around here and then ask questions.

Your meals sound balanced and healthy. I would suggest adding up the number of calories you are eating every day to make sure you are eating enough. As long as you are eating healthy, getting exercise and buring more calories than you are taking in, then you will lose weight. Sounds like you are off to a good start!

There is maybe a chance you are not getting enough fiber but I don't think that would keep you from losing weight. Are you eating any "cheat meals" during the week that could negate the calories burned from excercising? How many hours per week are you excercising now compared to before?

Also, your stats are needed as mentioned already.

Answer to some questions..

Well,

I did'nt exercise AT ALL before, I work and go to school so my meals consisted of two huge fast food meals hurled into my mouth out of desperate hunger when I got a moment to myself. Not to mention, sometime I would eat crap food late and then go to bed because I was so tired AND hungry.

Now, I eat small 5-7 times and work out 3-5 times a week.

Oh, and stats: 23 years old, 5'8, 230pds. <----- UGH!

Hope this answered you questions, thanks for ANY help!

My suggestion is pretty simple, keep going! You have to give it more than 2 weeks. If you quit now out of frustration you are going to look back 6 months from now and think, "just think where I could be today." I know it is hard when you want results fast but it just doesn't work that way when you are doing it the right way, which you are. So applaud yourself for going about this in a healthy manner but dig deep and try to find a little more perseverance! You can do it! Really, you can!

P.S. I weigh myself every day. Many might not agree with this but it has taught me just how much our weight can fluctuate as it goes down over time. I gained 1.5 lb last week but I lost 3.5 lb this week! My conclusion? Last week was a fluke. I was probably retaining water or maybe I was constipated or something! :D

Like someone else said before..just keep going! It takes time.
Ive been on my new healthy lifestyle for about 4 months and i look in the mirror and i still don't see a change. BUT I've been gettnig alot of comments like 'wow u look good, youve lost weight blah blah lol and my clothes are alot looser. My point is you look at yourself everyday, you may not see the subtle changes or your weightloss but fastfoward to a huge amount of time and if you look back it will be obvious. Hence people you havent seen in a while tend to notice your weightloss more lol :) just be patient and keep at it. It will be more obvious the more you lose.

So very true. So often we will focus on a specific area of our body that we want to change but it does not work like that. In fact often times those areas are the last to finally exhibit big changes. Like stomachs for guys and legs/backsides for women.

I am amazed at how overall less 'puffy' I look in my before and middle pics now. We often see the changes in our faces but I took my pics with my shirt off and the whole upper part of my body is less puffy than it was before. In fact I used to lie on my side all the time in bed and lately I've found it rather uncomfortable as my lowest ribs dig into the bed directly!

Be patient and stick to what your doing and results will come!
