Once I started weighing most of the things I eat, it was really quite shocking to think back at how much food I was consuming. Weighing really helps you understand proper portion sizes.

Really glad you guys have been enjoying it.

Keep that accountability up and you will hit those goals for sure :)

I loved it. Even though they threw in an apostrophe or two where they didn't belong.

And, of course, along with everyone else I was amazed at the caloric difference and everything, but I also have a question...

Why does it say that about guru's [ACK] wanting you to eat low carb? What does that have to do with anything?

That's very interesting - makes me wonder if the calories per serving listed on food packaging (which is how I've been calculating) is accurate or not!

I watched the "grocery stores want you fat" video by the same poster as well...good points and hilarious to boot!

Excellent tip, never thought about my portion sizes before when I thought I was following, perhaps I was not. Youtube can be quite addictive. I started on that video, then ended up watching ten others, anyways i'm back now. hehe

hi everyone,

Nadine

I use my food scale for pretty much everything. It really is an eye opener, and doesn't let you cheat saying "this much is half!" when it really isn't.

Any suggestions on a good food scale? Would someplace like GNC (Probably not) carry one? I'm going to be down to a city tomorrow with lots of time to kill and would like to get one.

Loved the video. I check my usual measure for oatmeal and I was dead on. That made me happy, but I know other things probably are not.

I have a digital scale I purchased at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Wow, just a little overmeasuring can add up to a lot of unwanted calories. I am the worse at this when cooking but am going to be very strict about it from now on. thanks for sharing this great video with us.

food scale video

This will def. stay with me when measuring out my food. I do level everything off, but I'm sure a food scale would come in handy.

Here is a Fat Loss Tip

Make sure that you get adequate sleep. Good sleep habits are conducive to exercise, experts point out. If you feel worn out during the day, you are less likely to get much physical activity during the day.

In addition, there is evidence that people who are tired tend to eat more, using food as a substance for the rest they need.

This reminds me

At my WW meetings, the leader did this class on tiny bites, or tastes...she wanted us to realize how many calories you can consume by tasting food while you are cooking or just nibbling throughout the day. She took a gallon size plastic bag and for everytime she tasted or nibbled on throughout one day, she put the same amount in the bag. (it wasnt very appetizing looking of course)...but it was surprising how much that added up. Especially if you think about holiday tasting etc......
