Dylan's Diary

Hey, Dylan, I noticed you drink Gatorade zero sometimes. Do you drink the 32 oz bottles or 20 oz ones? I went and bought some 6 packs of 20 oz bottles and noticed those actually have 5-10 calories per bottle depending on the flavor. And then noticed that the 32 oz ones are actually zero calories no matter the flavor. Just makes me wonder why! Lol I think I'll check the ingredients to see the difference.
Yeah, I'm not entirely sure, that's definitely a weird one. Must have to do with something they put into the 20z ones but I always get the 32oz because I usually grab one sometimes if I'm at the gas station or something.

Today was pretty darn good, and I haven't been updating my diary in a few days because of such a busy schedule, it's getting harder to find free time to post and stuff.

Breakfast:
Oats w/ Peanut Butter
Banana
Water

Lunch:
Grilled Chicken Salad
Unsweetened Tea

Dinner:
2 Sirloin Steaks
Brown Rice w/ Peas & Carrots
Whey Protein

Did some physical activity today before work such as, walked my dog for about 5 miles, then I came home and did some house work, stained the deck, did my laundry, went grocery shopping and went to work. It was a very hot day, but overall I think today was a great success. Could of honestly ate more calories because I'm about in the 3200 area for my 500 calorie deficit.

O wow you had such an efficient day! Great work sticking to your food plans even though you're busy.

Thanks everyone!

I'm glad things are staying consistent which is most important to me. My goal is about 2-3 pounds per week, and as long as I'm making progress, that's all that matters. I know eventually there will be some ups and downs such as weight loss plateaus, but it's just something I have to keep fighting and work harder at. So far, I'm super happy with my results, and as you can see throughout my journey, I didn't starve myself at all during this entire time. In fact, I had splurge meals here and there, but for the majority of the time, I was moving and eating healthy.

This just goes to show, you don't have to ABSOLUTELY cut out pizza, pasta, bread, and burgers. You just have to eat it in moderation, and stay focused while eating healthy foods MAJORITY of the time. Now, this may not be the case for some people, as eating unhealthy might trigger binge eating, addiction triggers, crash diet, etc. So in reality, it's more of a mental game, and if you can't trust yourself by ONLY limiting junk food while eating healthy, then don't even eat it at all.

I eat a splurge meal or two per week, and I've been losing weight on a 2-3 pound loss AVERAGE!

Again, moderation is very important. It's such an easy thing to say, but some people simply don't understand it. Someone kept telling me "If you eat this cheeseburger or pizza, you will ruin your entire diet! Don't do it!" Sorry bud, I know my calorie limit, I'm active, and I eat healthy 90% of the time per week and I average a weight loss of 2-3 pounds per week, and it's VERY consistent. :p

Plus it prepares you for life after your diet. Cutting every unhealthy thing from your diet not only sounds a bit obsessive, it also only works in the long run if you plan to never eat those things again in your life. I like your way better.

END OF WEEK #6

So, most of you have seen that I dropped a total of 2 pounds this week, and I'm very happy with Week 6 results. I jumped on the scale this morning, and I couldn't believe my eyes. It's crazy to jump on the scale every Friday, and see a 2 pound loss every single time right on the money, it's truly amazing on consistent this turning out. It's also fascinating to know I lost 15 pounds already, and I'm only on Week 6 which is a little under 2 months! Meals...

Breakfast:
Maple Brown Sugar Oatmeal (forgot to grab whole grain oats yesterday)
Unsweetened Tea
Whey Protein

Lunch:
4 slices of pizza (148 calories each / about 48g per slice) = 592 Calories
Gatorade Zero

Dinner:
Lean Turkey Burger w/ bun (Bun wasn't to bad in calories, but mainly carb dominant)
Big bowl of brown rice w/ Peas & Carrots mixed
Unsweetened Tea

Weight: 348

Today as you can tell, was a little different. Had a little bit of a splurge meal to celebrate a successful week of 2 pounds lost. Also, I went grocery shopping the other day, so I'm currently loaded and ready for Week #7!!

My goal for Week #7 is 346 pounds!

Being a body builder, or a professional fitness athlete at a more competitive level, then yeah being obsessive over what you eat is one thing. Trying to pursue a happier and healthier lifestyle is another.

Oh, this is really good, dsmith! :hurray: Cheering for your continued great progress - it's looking like by the year's end you'll be joining alligatorob in the 250-300 club!!

I'd welcome Dylan, but I don't want to languish in that club too long.

Amy, you are now tied again!

250 I think would look really good on me, I'm a really tall guy with wide shoulders, and I think a hundred pound drop would look really good. People say I don't even look like I weigh in the 300s. Everyone thinks I'm in the like the high 200s. I always confuse them until I tell them my actual weight.

BMI often isn't much to go on when your build isn't average so you may well be right.
You are 100% correct. Kind of making sense now. The BMI chart recommends me being 180 pounds, and there is no way in hell. I would probably be a skeleton if I dropped that much weight.

I looked into male body types, and I definitely fit into the "Endomorph" body type. However, they say "Endomorph" are "Typically shorter than average height" however, I'm 6ft 2, and I'm not that short at all.

Week #7 - Day 1

7/15/19

Today's Meals.

Breakfast:
Oats w/ scoop of peanut butter - 490 calories
Whey Protein - 190 calories
Water

Lunch:
Crispy Chicken Salad w/ Ranch dressing - 520 calories
Unsweetened Tea
Water

Dinner:
Famous KFC Bowl (chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and cheese mixed) - 700 calories
Water

I ate about 2,000 calories today, but my real 500 deficit of my TDEE is 3,600 so I'm definitely low on calories right now, and it's currently 10:30, and I should be going to bed here soon. However, I'm kind of thinking about making something to eat so I can be a little bit more caught up, but I'm not sure because if I eat, I might have a hard time sleeping. I might make some oats or something, and then go to bed, not really sure.

Hey Dylan, good to see you are doing well, and you seem to be feeling good about it. That's great.

If your avatar picture is recent I agree you don't look 100 lbs overweight, but its what is healthy that matters more than looks.

I went to the website, it is interesting. I have no idea which body type lies under my layers of fat, it would be nice to think its and Endomorph, like yours. But I need to lose a lot more weight to find out. I am a lot shorter (and older) than you.

Keep up the good work!

Thank you, it means a lot.

Also, bodybuilding.com has a body type calculator with a few simple questions about yourself. I guess I'm (ENDOMORPH: 88%... MESOMORPH: 13%)

Here is the link so you can check it out: Link Removed
