Dying to be thin.

Hey everyone. I am pretty far into my weightloss. I am actually almost to my first goal, but I decided to start a diary thread anyway.

I started out at 196 in September 2006. My goal was to be down to 145 by the end of March, but it does not look like that will happen. I am extremely happy getting into the 150s though. I do not remember the last time I was in the 150s.. sometime before my freshman year in highschool.

welcome to your diary and to the site -and congrats on the success you've had...

your diary title gave me a start - I hope you're not dying to do anything but rather working ona healthy lifestyle for yourself :)

much success getting to your goal :)

Nope not dying, and not starving myself either. That is prob the first thing that comes to mind when I hear dying to be thin, but that is not what I mean by it. Anyway I will be back later with updates.

Dying to be thin huh - even thoguh it doesnt make me assume you are literally dying to be thin it is acatching title and I can totally relate - LOL

Good job on the loss so far that is awesome !!!

Well things didn't go to well this weekend as far as eating healthy goes. I exercised a lot. I went to the gym on Saturday then on Sunday I went bike riding on the trails. We rode about 10 miles. I am pooped. haha

Today I won't have time to go to the gym so I got up at 6 and went for a bike ride then came home and walked/ran a mile.

I keep hearing people say it is good to eat small meals every few hours. What type of "meal" and how often? It is getting really hard for me to lose more weight and I need some eating right tips. Thanks in advance.

what constitutes a good meal is one that contains carbs/protein/fats in a specific proportion - 40:30:40 i believe is the proportion.. that can be some veggies/a chicken breast and some brown rice... (kinda bland but adding some spice for flavor will perk it up)

There's an ebook that explains the whole concept of the 6 meals a day if you can get past the really bad website..

you might also want to ask Steve for more suggestions... he's a wealth of info on the subject.

HI there,

The best way to split up your four-six mini-meals is to divide your daily caloric intake [no less than 1250-1300] into these six meals. I wouldnt be too stringent with calories, as you become obsessive [trust me on this one]/ So approximate based on general knowledge. Sample menu for your reference:

Breakfast:
2 slices high-fibre bread-
2 egg whites with slice diet cheese-
Sm. apple-

Mid-morning Snack:
Serving of fruit-
1 tablespoon peanut butter-

Lunch:
Grilled chicken
Salad w/ dressing

Mid-afternoon snack:
Carrots with hummus
Serving fruit

Dinner:
Medium sweet potato
Fish/Chicken

Basically, balance your calories/meals so that you are intaking your caloric intake while also satiating your appetite and maintaining your glucose levels throughout the day. Let me know if you want more specified options!
