Droping The Weight Before A Wedding

It's been over a month since I posted too. I never got around to posting that I got officially engaged on valentines day, hooray! There is a proposal story on my wedding website for those interested:

Grats! That's a great proposal story, so cute!

Did anyone else gain weight from birth control pills?

I've been on them for so long, I can't say whether or not it plays a role in my weight anymore. However, a friend of mine just went off the pill and she lost about 10lbs. She's not dieting or anything, and thinks the pill has something to do with it...

I started on Yaz this fall and it hasn't affected my weight at all. It's a diuretic though and may help some people lose weight. I think it's different for every person and also every pill.

Getting married in August

Hi all!

I'm new to this site, and I'm glad there are other brides to be here! I hope to lose 85 pounds overall, but would like to lose at least a little of it by my wedding on August 2.

Any good strapless dress exercises I can add to my cardio routine? My biggest problem area is right above my bust.

I haven't left but I have been very busy w/ planning the wedding. About 2months and 2 weeks left so everything is slowly falling in to place. I've been having nightmares every other night about things going wrong.. but as far as eating and exercising I have been doing awesome for about 2 weeks.. lost 5 lbs and I want to loose about 5-10 more.. I have me second dress fitting on wed.

Hey there

Im new to this forum...and Im so happy I found this thread! Im getting married August 30 of this year and I need to drop 15 pounds by then. My problem is with motivation. But I really have to stick to it this time if Im gonna fit into my dress...which is very fitted :S

I have a question guys...

Do you need to wait until you have lost all the weight you want before getting your dress fitted? I am only about half way there weight loss wise, but I want to get started on the alterations. any thoughts?

bridetobe....... push ups are great for the chest area..... or bench press!

I would wait longer. You still have some time! I'd worry that you'd lose a lot of weight and the alterations would have to be redone, at extra cost. I'd wait until 6 or 4 weeks away from the wedding. But that's me. My dress isn't even going to come into the store until 4 weeks before my wedding! I'm nervous about it--but they said that everything will be fine and that is plenty of time for alterations.

I am so joining this club! I am getting married in 10 weeks. It's not even the wedding I'm focused on as much as the honeymoon. I am working my butt off to lose weight right now and I'm so glad I found this site (and this group)! We can all do this!!!

I am so excited! I have lost another ten pounds since I bought my dress. My dress is back at my parents house (over 12hrs away), so I haven't seen it since I bought it in February. I'm heading home in two weeks, so I will get to try it on again and see how it fits now.

Welcome Tropical sun!

I'm getting married on 11th October this year. We decided to finally tie the knot on 29th February, so I've been dieting since then. So far I've lost 16lbs, but there's still some way to go.

Melanie.

Wow your dress if fitting beautifully!! Well done on your success!!

What a great thread!

I'm not getting married until 2010 (well, we're young!), but I already have my dress... it was a gift from a friend: she bought it on sale at a whim (and at $30, who wouldn't?), but it was vetoed by her mum. It doesn't fit me at all though... it's two sizes too big! So while we have to get it altered anyway, I'm looking to drop ten kilos so I look great in it!

I guess I can be added to the list of brides to be! I started my weight loss before getting engaged. But this has just amped me up even more. We aren't getting hitched until March of 2009 so I have PLENTY of time and NO EXCUSES to not be at my goal weight by then.

Wow, liddieloo, you look great! Congratulations!

Madness, hello! I want to be at my goal weight at the same time as you: but for graduation, not for my wedding! The ring is a WAY bigger motivation though!

Im a newb, and Im glad I found this thread!
My wedding is October 4, 2008 and I am contractually obligated to lose 50 lbs! (Im under medical supervision--dont try this for fun on your own!) My journey is being documented by an unnamed cable network for a television special. (A classier way of saying Im on a reality show.)

How many dress sizes do you think 50 lbs is?
Darn wedding gowns for being so difficult to size!
