drinking ...

I'm feeling very unmotivated. this is why.

so ive been working out pretty much everyday (5-6 days a week)..lifting weights and doing HIIT. and ive been losing about an average of 1.8lbs a week. but then this last week, i weighed in at 168.5, and should have been 168 on friday morning.

however, on thursday night i went out to the bar for a couple of hours with a friend of mine. I had 3 coors lights and a jack&diet. The next morning i weighed in at 170. great.

then this morning (saturday), i weighed in at 172.

I mean come on! it took me 2.5 weeks to lose those 4 pounds, and i gain it back by drinking 3 beers?!

is this true, do you really gain weight back THAT quickly by straying the tiniest bit, or could there be other reasons for the weight gain.

anyway, its very discouraging. and i realize that to get the best results one must cut out drinking completely, but i went from like 7 drinks a day/ 6 days a week, to drinking once every 1-2 weeks, and only having a couple of drinks on those days.

It just doesnt make much sense to me, that i can stay at a steady 180 pounds, and drink as much alcohol as i want, eat whatever i want, and sit on the couch all day.

but a solid month of working out everyday, eating very very few if any carbs, eating all healthy food, drinking water consistantly, cutting out booze, and lifting weights would all be negated by a couple beers one night.

Why are you cutting out all carbs?

Anyway, no you didn't gain 4 pounds of fat from 3 beers. Not possible. Sounds like normal water fluctuation.

Ensure your weighing yourself around the same time in the same "circumstances" every time. Preferably, in the AM, after using the bathroom, with very little if any clothing.

And even with the above suggestions, you cannot predict your weight fluctuations with 100% accuracy. Water weighs a lot. 36 ounces of beer (3 beers) weigh about 2 pounds. They have 400 calories or so, equaling 1/10th of a pound of fat if its all preserved and unburned. So no, you did not gain any weight.

Also, try weighing yourself when you first wake up, before using the bathroom. Then again after using it for number one and two, but before breakfast. You will notice that you have suddenly "lost" 3 pounds or so. :)

Wow that kind of sounds like my situation! I do the same thing, work out regulary, eat healthy blah blah but I also drink at least 3x710ML bottles of water a day! And so i went and weighed my self at the gym and it said that i gained "3pounds" i was like WTF!!! But i havent weighed myself since then, but i can notice that its all gone im pretty sure!

stupid liquids!
