Drinking Cold or Hot Water?

Drinking hot water as appose to cold water can increase the speed of your metabolism and burn more calories.

How many of you think hot water is better than cold and vice versa?

Well, I don't know technically which one would be better for boosting your metabolism, but I'd guess it would be the cold water. Simply because your body will have to burn extra calories to compensate for the temperature difference and keep your body at 98.6.

However, I personally feel better when drinking warm water. It warms up my stomach and helps me feel full. I doubt that really does anything for metabolism, though.

This is a dieting myth. All it does is get you to drink where you may not have had anything to drink. You lose weight as you feel 'fuller' having had so much more to drink and lose weight as you are eating less.

The fact is, the energy expired to warm up the water when you drink it is so minimal you'd get more from pouring a glass and pressing the microwave buttons to warm it up!

If you like ice cold water then go for it but don't put yourself through any misery in the belief that you may be losing weight as unfortunetly its just not that easy!

LOL! Yeah, I can't imagine you'd burn more than maybe 1 calorie keeping yourself warm after drinking cold water.

There's a lot of really stupid information out there. Once I saw an article that said if you rub your stomach the friction will melt body fat. It doesn't get much worse than that...
