DP Trainium treadmill - who manuafcturers?

HI I am in Australia and wanted to know if the manufacturer of this treadmill is still in business.

The treadmill stops at regualar intervals whilst running – If I pull the safety plug out on console and push back agai and press the speed back up it starts again but shortly will stop agai. I have also pulled the plug fro the transformer and re connected and pressed speed and it starts and again after short jog it stops again.

Any ideas what part is required to be replaced and if so how much ? I will organise airfreight to Australia.
Thanks
Mike

treadmill stops

I had the same problem. The pulley "attached" to the roller that drives the track is slipping. The pulley is not really attached, it just has some hatching on the inside of it that is supposed to give enough friction on the hatching of the roller to move it.... it doesn't.

You can fix your treadmill's intermittent stopping

I paid $2500 for a Precor 905e treadmill in 1986 and just bought in January 2009 a ProForm 725TL for $35 because it had all the problems you described.

The Precor had the same problem eight years ago and I fixed it by first loosening (turning anti-clockwise) both rear adjusting bolts until the belt started slipping and then gradually tightening (turning clockwise) both bolts until it just stopped slipping. By slipping I mean when walked on at 3.0 MPH or less, you can feel the belt stop with every footstep. I also sprayed NAPA silicon spray 8300 under the belt.

Needless to say, the ProForm treadmill which had the same problem is also working just fine. My wife an I now enjoy walking together in the basement while watching TV instead of in -27C temperatures outside.

Note also that if your treadmill is programmable (has preset programs) and the pulse monitor is not plugged in or attached, the treadmill will stop after one or two minutes.

I suggest you find a manual for your treadmill (yes, you can, if you look hard enough on the Net) if you do not have one, perform the maintenance on it, decrease the tension on the running belt, lubricate the deck under the belt, align the running belt, and ... either use manual mode or plug in and wear the pulse monitor with the programs.

Good luck.
