Hey guys, something has gone off in my mind and I'm losing weight. My weight has fluctuated a lot over the years but the past few years I've really been depressed about it and kind of gave up. I'm 46, 5'9" and 262 lbs. Whoa!

The past few months I have been sick a lot, one flu after upper respiratory infection after cold etc... I've known in my heart I needed to get my s**t together but it wasn't until I got sick around the 1st on April that something triggered. I was sick again and a series of events happened, a kid at burger place pointed at me and said I was fat, I watched the 100 pound lost Dr. Oz show and something else. But that was it I couldn't take it anymore. On April 4th I weighed in and spent the next couple of days sick in bed unable to eat and I think it was a blessing, it's like it stopped me in my tracks long enough to get a friggin grip. Kind of like rehab. I have been eating way healthier and lighter since then and weighed in this morning at 251 lbs, down 11 lbs since the 4th. I've been riding my bike and start back at the gym in the morning. Anyway, the 251 lbs got me excited. I shot video of my weigh in on the 4th, I'm gonna film every monthly weigh in and put together a video when I'm at my goal weight.

Well, that's it, just wanted to say hi. Funny thing is it's 12:30am I can't sleep and I'm NOT hungry. Crazy!

Hey guys, maybe this forum's not the right one for me since I'm responding to my own post 2 weeks later...lol Well if anyone out in cyber world can hear me I need help. I've been at it since the 4th and was doing very well till 3 days ago when I went out of town for work. My food got a little funky and I could feel it. I'm home now and probably put on a couple of pounds the past few days but my food was good today. My situation is I am traveling 4 days out of every week for the next month. I need to get my s**t together or I'm gonna fall off the wagon badly. I need a game plan. Maybe it's writing down ahead of time all my food for the days I'm away. Not sure, any ideas? Anyone else travel for work? Whatcha do?

Hey JourneyTo175! First of all, congratulations on all that weightloss. Its a shame that it took being ill to start dropping the weight but like you said maybe it was a blessing in disguise! Maybe I am not the right person to ask because I am pretty new here but I also spent a period of time where I was travelling a large amount with work and had the same problem as you where I really struggled to eat healthy whilst on the road.

Like you have already said, planning was key for me and I made a mental list of all the places I was going and what food i knew would be available at that place. Planning let me take control as i could visualise what food i was going to eat and when so avoided the trap of grabbing lots of fast food on the road because i didn't know when i was going to eat again.

Sure there are lots of other things you can do but thats what seemed to work for me!

Hey guys, I am on the same journey as everyone else and I am have just started and no where near my goal weight I do have some experience with not knowing what to eat.

I currently reside in Mainland China for business and its all about making healthy choices. I choose to eat natural foods and if I need a snack or something just look for some healthy choices. Apples are healthy, oranges, grapes, veggies, etc.

I think if we use out gut, we can all figure out whats good. Here's a tip:

1. First see if this natural, does it exist it in nature.. ie. not processed
2. Is it cooked in a good way (not fried)
3. Now decide if you want to eat this

If this sounds duanting go to abc.com and check out Jamie Olivers Food Revolution, this will give you an eyeopener as to whats good!

Thanks guys. I miraculously got back on track. Man this could have been a major disaster. I leave Thursday and am back Sunday and I do this every week till June. I'm gonna stick to natural foods.

I put 4 lbs on while I was gone and now have taken off 2 lbs in the past few days, so I feel back on track. Off to work with my lunches.

Got back last night from my second 4 days stint out of town, 3 more to go. All in all I did better then usually, most of my meals were good and few rough moments but I was able to stop myself before it got crazy. So it's Monday morning, I'm gonna go really strict till Thursday morning and then weigh in and do my second filming. My goal is to be in the 240's, even 249.9lbs would be cool.:sifone:

Work has been so stressful and these are times I usually eat like a maniac, so this is progress.

Good work! Just remember that if you fall off the horse, get up and get back on straight away, like you're doing :) well done.

Congrats on the loss!!!! It is very hard to stay on track, especially while traveling! I give you lots of credit! I know I have a super hard time getting back on track once I fall off :( Not to mention, Im a stress eater...and LOTS of stress right now is not helping lol.!

Keep up the good work!!

Hey guys, I'm back and I've pretty much held my ground this month. I spent the whole month traveling but now I'm home for 6 weeks and really buckling down. Food's been good and I went to the gym the past 2 days. I could not lose weight on the road, I just didn't have it in me but I hung in there and only gained back 2 pounds, so it's onward and upward.

J
