Does Weight training burn fat

If you use the weight machines for any part of the body, does it burn away fat and replace it with muscle or just build muscle under that fat ?

Burning fat is at the top of many people’s list of health priorities. Lots of us want to burn as much fat from our body as possible but don’t know the best method for doing so. Fortunately, there are a number of physical activities that burn off the fat and calories. All of them are effective, but the effectiveness is at different levels.

1. Begin running if you want to burn the most fat possible. The strain that running puts on the body and the workout it gives the heart provides the most bang for your fat burning buck. A person can burn over 500 calories in an hour simply by jogging.

2. Play physically demanding sports where your body is in constant motion such as tennis and soccer if you want to burn calories and work off your competitive side as well. An adult can burn well over 400 calories simply by getting outside with some friends and playing their favorite sport for an hour.

3. Start lifting weights if you are interested in burning fat and replacing it with muscle. Bench pressing, squats and other weight lifting activities burn away the fat and convert your flab into muscle. A person can burn between 200 and 400 calories depending on the amount of weight and effort put into your regimen.

4. Try walking if these more strenuous activities seem over your head. Walking can be a great way to burn fat when done regularly and with a little more effort than usual. A brisk walk, such as walking the dog, can burn up to 250 calories and shave a great deal of fat away.

5. Work harder around the house if you don’t have time to exercise. Packing boxes will trim 250 calories from your body, while playing with your kids can burn almost 175 calories.

Weight training and fat loss are very different processes and require different regimens. They are NOT mutually exclusive. All you have to do is control your diet to continue burning fat while controlling your workouts to build muscle. It's that simple.

Adding lean muscle mass will increase your metabollic rate. Resistance training will result in greater lean muscle mass that will help your body burn fat, not just during workout sessions, but all day long. A well-balanced apoproach with cardio and weight training is a sound fitness strategy.

You've described "spot reduction" here, which doesn't work. That doesn't mean that weight training doesn't burn fat; it means that spot reduction isn't how it happens. Fat is an energy source, and is used systemically rather than locally. That means that rather than squats burning fat off my legs and triceps kickbacks burning fat off my arms, squats burn fat off my whole body, and triceps kickbacks....probably don't have a huge influence on fat being burned because of how little energy is actually being used.

I should note here that weight training, in and of itself, is not an efficient way to burn fat, because it's primarily anaerobic, while fat is burned through aerobic processes. Again, this doesn't mean don't do strength training to lose fat, it means that energy systems require complicated explanations. Ultimately, if you're going to be burning body fat, it's probably because your body is in a calorie deficit, ie the energy going into your body is less than the energy going out. Whether you do cardio or strength training is actually borderline irrelevant in this regard, because both result in more energy output. The fact that strength training mostly uses anaerobic energy sources is largely insignificant in the big scheme of things, because in 24 hours, your body has still spent that energy and not gotten it back, which means that it will have to break down bodily tissue for the express purpose of not dying. Doing strength training teaches your body that it needs muscle, so it will aim to preserve, if not build, muscle tissue, so strength training is the best thing you can do to eliminate lean body mass being used for energy. This only really leaves body fat as the source of those extra calories that aren't coming from food.
