Does this theory hold water?

Ok as some of you know, I lost weight on my pneumonia diet. I went from 257 to 243. Now I have a theory that suggests that my weight loss is more related to change in pattern than me being sick.

Why? I have fasted before. I have fasted for a week and a half only to lose 2-3 lbs. This sickness basically was a forced fast for even shorter period of time than the intentional fasts I did years ago and I lost 14 lbs. I think the fast was insignificant.

My theory is that I lost the weight because I changed my routine. I was working out harder than I have in over 5 years and losing very little weight. I stopped for a week and though my lungs were getting torn up at that time, my muscles were recovering.

So, if this is correct, then my theory is that my body can best benefit from a 3 weeks on 1 week off intense workout routine and I can expect to lose the most weight during my recovery week.

However, I'm ignorant on this subject... so does my theory hold water guys?
Thanks

Maybe your body was working extra hard to fight the pneumonia and was using your body's reserves to do so. I wouldn't think you would get the same results if you weren't sick.

3 weeks on and 1 week off is a little too much. However, it is suggested that you take a week or two off every 6 months.

Your body has to use a lot more energy when it has taken damage, whether it is from a cold, pneumonia, a broken leg, or muscle tears from working out...

So I agree with calcium...

Ok thanks guys. I guess my body was working even if I spent most of the time laying down in my lazy boy.

I was pretty sure that the diet wasnt the reason for the loss though. I used to fast right before a diet to prove to myself that I was mentally strong enough to endure the diet. I would go days and days without food and never lost any significant weight. So thats what I was basing my theory off of I guess. Thanks for shooting me strait.\

It is quite common for people with pneumonia to lose weight. Have you ever seen somebody else that you know with it? They look horrible, weak, almost shrivled up, etc. I imagine a big part of it would be water weight. Anyway, I just wouldn't approach this as thinking this was a unique thing just to you.

You get sick real bad, and you lose weight. Pretty simple.
