Ive heard allot about this lately Maybe it does speed up ones metabolism or hamper sugar absorbtion or maybe it was just enough of an amotivating factor that one was just too lazy to cook?

But in all seriousness if anyone has some real facts about the meta factors of THC I'd really like to know :)

I don't do drugs but from what I know weed gives you the munchies...so if anything you'll be more hungry and increase your chances of binging

been looking on the net and It does in fact speed up the heart rate I guess that would thus speed up metabolism yes?

and the "munchies" are controllable I'm a very strong willed person when i start something I finish it and this is my 1st diet ever. 18 days strong never in doubt

I'm not sure where you want to go with this, but I don't think smoking pot will make a significant difference in your fat loss ;-)

Anyway, if it speeds up heart rate, that doesn't automatically mean it fosters fat loss. Cortisol (stress hormone) speeds up heart rate as well, but certainly doesn't foster fat loss.

Unfortunately no

Being an ex weed afficiando and living in the land of the best weed in North America I can offer this insight. Weed has no calories which is a plus but most of the rest is negative.

It's affect on your respiratory system is similiar to cigarettes. Given how you have to get it deep in your lungs and hold it to get properly baked,a little weed goes a long way to screwing up lung capapcity.

My old doctor used to prescribe medical marijuana to cancer and AIDS patients to stimulate their appetite.

What I noticed amongst my long term burning buddies and why I quit is that pot destroys motivation. Nobody who's a habitual user is making any effort to work out and suffer in the gym.

...ok...

Mayo Clinic:

"When smoked or ingested, THC and other cannabinoids in marijuana attach to two types of receptors on cells in your body — like keys in a lock — affecting the cells, once attached.

CB1 is one such receptor. CB1 receptors are found mainly in your brain, especially in areas that control body movement, memory and vomiting. This helps explain why marijuana use affects balance and coordination and impairs short-term memory and learning, and why it can be useful in treating nausea, pain and loss of appetite.

The other type of receptor, CB2, is found in small numbers elsewhere in your body, mainly in tissue of the immune system, such as your spleen and lymph nodes. The function of these receptors is not well understood. They may serve as brakes on immune system function, which may help explain why marijuana suppresses your immune system.

After you smoke marijuana, its ingredients reach their peak levels in your body within minutes, and effects can last up to an hour and a half. When eaten — the plant is sometimes mixed with food — the ingredients can take several hours to reach their peak levels in your body, and their effects may last for hours."

AKA...It's not going to be helping you in weight loss.
