Does anyone use pictures of themselves or other people to change their behaviors?

Hey there,
I've been experimenting with using different ways to change my tiny decisions each day. I've tried sending little messages to myself throughout the day to change my thoughts. Like, at 6pm, I've scheduled a message to pop on my phone that says "abs are made in the kitchen". So that if Im getting close to eating time--that little thought sinks into my brain before. Or, I'll look at pictures of athletes that inspire me if Im battling between having something healthy or junk food.

Has anyone else used these kinds of things multiple times a day or week to change their behaviors? Has it been effective?

Thanks,
Ash

yeah onetime i wrote a message on the side of my index finger a thumb saying DO NOT EAT. So when I garbed anything that would be the first thing i would see. Or I would put a motivational quote as my screen saver.

That's awesome! Did it work? It might be kind of hard given the food is already right in front of your mouth. But I think that's what Im going for--intersecting right when Im about to make a decision.

I used to eat a ton of fast food, until I read an article about mechanically separated chicken! Jamie Oliver also has a good show about it too! Now whenever I think of fast food (even if it supposedly is not made like this anymore) all I can think about is that article and I am immediately turned off eating for a while. Works great, haha!

I've tried something similar to this, didn't work for me.

A friend of mine use to wear one of those plastic wristbands and whenever he felt a craving for something he would snap it on himself. Seemed to work for him, but maybe a little extreme :p?
