Do you know what your body fat percentage is?

So I'm getting frustrated because despite my efforts my weight keeps going down to 205 ish and boucing back up to 210ish... so today i bought a body fat monitoring scale so that i could find out that even though my weight isn't changing or only going up maybe it's just muscle or water weight. Now, I dont have anything to compare it to previously but boy did it shock the shit out of me to get a body fat percentage reading of 46.7. Im really dissapointed with that but looking at myself I can see where its comming from... I was just hoping there was a lot more to me than fat like muscle which in my opinion i have quite a bit of... but then again i guess strength doesnt necessarily mean i have a lot of muscle.
All in all my good attitude is taking a turn as i feel i'm going down hill. i'm really hoping this hopeless feeling goes away soon before it effects my motivation... :nopity:

Most body fat scales come with a set of instructions,

those instructions will tell you that it's not the number that matters because they aren't goint to be right -what you want to make note of is the downward trend.

Forget the actual numbers and focus on consistent behavior and learning new habits that will stick with you(and your children) for the rest of your life

the fat percentage I was a little shocked but i am assuming that if I had boughten this scale a month ago the number probably would have been higher (at least i hope so). what i hope to gain from it is as my weight fluxuates how the the body fat percentage fluctuates (is it fat, is it muscle, is it water?)...
most of my frustration though is the pounds on the scale... the trend is just getting very tiring... its like everytime I get to 205 i say to myself ok this it another few pounds and ill be out of this 205 rut... but that 205 only lasts for a day or 2 then goes up a pound and maintains for a day or 2 then next thing i know im 210 and right back where i was fighting to get from 2 weeks ago just trying to be 205 again... i just want to know when i can be at 205 and expenct the trend to go downward and into the 100's instead of jumping back up again...
i know whats important is that i keep going and apparently im bound to see results and im really trying to stick with it (thats what im trying to tell myself anyway)... i love working out... it's just turning into a love/hate relationship...

If the scale isn't working as a useful tool for you -ditch it.

No one but you will ever know what that number is so who cares...

Go with other measurements instead - like the tape measure or hwo your clothes fit.

IF you go a month without getting any results -you need to re-evaluate what you're doing and make sure you're are keeping track of calories correctly, etc.
