Do I really need a scale?

I mean I have a scale, but it's not very accurate, it's in my weight range, but it's not perfect. I put a weight on it and it wasn't exact...
Anyways... Do I really need a scale because i know it motivates you but can't I just look at myself and see how I've changed and stuff.. Cause i'm gonna start to lose weight again. Because I want to play reciever or quarterback next year when I football season starts again, instead of linemen. Well anyways, yeah should I use the scale or not?

If you don't need a scale, then you don't need one. If you don't care about the number and are measuring your goals by another indicator, then no need to worry about a scale.

It's all about your goal ... bottom line.

Scales are nice to check your progress but not a necessity. In fact a scale can really be a bad thing because it dosn't take into account things like muscle mass and bone structure. For example a lot of people would be happy with a 10lb loss in weight but if that was really 8lbs of muscle and 2lbs of fat their body will actually be worse off for having lost that weight. Bottom line do what makes you happy because in the end it's just a number and in the words of my old college coach "scales are for fishes"

If you can do it without it, then go for it. I did not have a scale for my first 3 years of weight loss. I just used one at a store once in a blue moon. Perhaps if I would have had one, I would have made changes to to my exercise routine more often and it wouldn't have taken 3 years to lose 85 pounds :x

I used to have a pos broken scale and I used to be 252 pounds.

I bought a digital scale, and I'm now 90 bounds lighter.

I can honestly say it helped to have a good scale. Just knowing that what I was doing was bringing me results kept me going.
