Do I need to eat more?

Ok so I have a question.
I have the LoseIt app on my iphone. And I think its really great for tracking my progress and everything. I have my weight loss goal put in and it tells me I can have 1,938 calories a day. Which I think is ok. (Let me know if I’m wrong...)

So here is the thing. I feel like I am struggling to eat even that much. I’m not eating foods much different than I did before, other than I am avoiding too large of portions, and trying to fallow the food pyramid a little more closely. Plus I cut a lot of my sugar intake out.
I eat something around 4 times a day and I snack if I’m hungry. But I don’t feel like I’m starving, once I’m done eating I feel full. I won’t deny myself food if I’m hungry.

I think I mostly make it to 1500 with normal meals and then if I try, I will add on to that.
So what I’m asking is should I be eating bigger meals? I eat suggested portion size or more.
So should I be really worrying about this since I feel full? Or should I just keep doing what I’m doing? I don’t want to starve my body of something it needs. I guess I could eat more dairy and maybe some more fruit. I just wanted to know what you all thought.

Thanks, Tammi

About 1lb to a 1 1/2. I go down and inch on my waist, chest, and legs every month. So I don't think that's super fast or anything.

You didn't post what you weigh now, but taking a stab in the dark I think you are fine. If you are seeing weight loss, but it's not too fast (1-2 pounds a week is fine for most people) than you are just fine.

Did that app have a question about your level of activity? If so, it's possible that you set it at a higher activity rate than you are actually getting. I exercise 5 times a week, but still have mine set as "lightly active". Oh! And if you DO have activity built into your calories goals from the start, be sure not to add exercise in after you do it, or you are adding it twice, which will tell you to eat more then you should.

Calories are alway kind of a guess anyway. Your body will burn it's food differently than mine will, even if we are the same height and weight.

It was so long ago when i set the app up I don't remember what I set everything at. I'll have to see if I can reset it and look.
Thank you for the info it was a big help.

Edit: Ok I looked and some how I had 400 cal added to my allowance. I don't know how it got that way but I took it down to about 1500. I'll see how that goes for awhile. Thanks again.
