Okay, here are my stats:
Age: 33 (just turned, yikes!)
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 123.4 lbs
Gender: female
I want to burn off 3 to 5 pounds.
So according to a calculator I found online, my BMR is 1356.12 calories. So basically, if I want to lay in bed all day and not gain any weight, I could eat 1356 calories and be fine.
If I'm lightly active, my caloric needs are 1735. If I'm moderately active, they are 2002 (again, according to an online calculator).
I'm on an average exercise program-- 3 days a week full body resistance training, 3 days a week with at least 1/2 hour cardio. So if I consider that to be moderately active (or is it lightly?), and I consume 2002 calories, I won't lose any weight. If I want to lose 1 pound a week, I should take off 500 calories a day. So that means I should consume 1502 calories each day. Does that sound right?
Thanks!
