Diversifying Food While Doing A Diet and Not Getting Bored with It!

I feel sometimes like Im the only one having this problem - diversifying my food on a diet... I dont have a car so I am stuck to eat out or goto our school's dining hall which has some of the most high-cal foods I ever seen..... Soon recently Ive been living on Kellogg's Special-K cereal and self-made Turkey sandwiches with Mustard, but that's getting old fast... Is there any way I could add more flavor? Do you think it's ok for me to try the school's food if I calorie count (they do have nutrient facts posted on eat food)?

It would be fine to eat at the cafeteria, just dont go for high fat, bad carb items. Try to get things with some protein in them. And count the calories. Maybe see if you can get a piece of paper to take with you to see all the nutrition info and before you go down every day plan what your getting. Stay away from the saturated fats and sugary carbs.

especially if they have a salad bar! then you can get lots of great veggies in. Alot of cafeteria food is fried, so i would watch out with that, but you can often find some low-fat options. I would ask someone who works there if they have healthy options and if so, what those would be. I don't know what your dining hall is like, but mine had 4 different stations, burgers and fries, salad bar, "international", and main course... usually one of thsoe had a low fat option, as lots of the faculty were on diets.

another suggestion... lean pockets are awesome! there are so many varieties, and they are so quick and easy to make, and you can often find them on sale.
