I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, especially after seeing so many posts about people struggling to lose weight even when they’re “trying everything.”
One pattern I keep noticing is this:
Most people don’t fail because they don’t try…
They fail because their approach is random.
One week it’s:
From what I’ve seen (and experienced), progress usually comes from:
For example, I recently went down a rabbit hole reading about how people play the lottery.
Most people:
But there are also tools that try to remove that randomness and apply structured selection based on patterns and probability instead of emotion.
Not saying it guarantees anything (obviously it doesn’t), but the concept felt very similar to fitness:
Replace randomness with structure
Stay consistent
Let results compound over time

- New diet
- Different workout
- Cutting calories hard
- Cheat meals
- Skipping workouts

Why Structure Matters More Than Effort
From what I’ve seen (and experienced), progress usually comes from:
- Following a consistent plan
- Tracking what works
- Avoiding emotional decisions
- Giving your body time to respond
Interesting Parallel Outside Fitness
What’s interesting is this same idea shows up in other areas too.For example, I recently went down a rabbit hole reading about how people play the lottery.
