Dinner Ideas PLEASE!

Hello all. Lately Ive been on a diet, pretty much low everything, and excersizing/working out a lot. Lot about 8 pounds so far :D (Im 18, 5'10, 145, was 153) And so far, I eat about 4 bowls of special K a day :( I add a little splenda, and eat it w/ 1%. But The thing is, I need a variety! I dont know what else to look for/make thats good for me.

I have one thing, its called spagetti salad i think, its pasta noodles, chilled, with diced tomatoes/cucumbers/whatever other fruits/veggies you like, and topped off w/ a lot of italian.

As you can see, I need a variety. The Special K is starting to get boring!

Thanks a lot people!

I duno bout eating Beans but i do. Fat free beans, microwaved, melt a Fat free cheese, and use it as dip for reduced fat tortilla chips. But scoop a lot of dip with one chip since it's better to reduce the intake of the tortilla chips.

Or sometimes i get 2/3 eggs take out the yolk pure it in a pan with non stick spray and pure 1 can of tuna in. Cook it up so it's like... tuna scrable egg? the i put 2 slices of fat free cheese in.

whole grain bread 2-4 slices toasted. i use 2 slices of whole grain bread. Cook 2 eggs, yolks scooped out and cook up chicken breast slices (they're thin) and make a sandwhich with it add a slice of fat free cheese. and i eat the 2 other slices of bread just like that or with natural style peanut butter (dang i ate half a pound of that peanut butter in one day)

Special K all day? I guess you do need a variety :D I tryed that special k diet once with all special k all day and couldnt take it. You can make alot of things and still stick to a diet you dont half to limit yourself to special k. You could grill a skinless chicken breast and some veggies or bake it you can eat certain kinds of steaks all kinds of stuff check out this site it has a complete shopping list http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/stella9.htm

Definitely try to wean yourself off the Special K - not that great for you.

Have oatmeal (not in the packets, though, as they're full of sugar) - you can sweeten it up w/ a cut-up apple and cinnamon, chopped-up dried fruit like apricots and dates, or even a little bit of Splenda.

You can make chicken stir-fry, which I eat everyday - it's fast and healthy. Just cut-up a chix breast and cook it in a skillet w/ 1/2T olive oil and water, and then throw in some frozen veggies.

Natty PB is super-good for you, and very tasty. Have some 100% whole wheat bread w/ PB, or an apple or banana spread w/ PB. Actually, 1 or 2T of PB tastes pretty good stirred up in oatmeal.

YOu can purchase liquid egg whites (don't be confused w/ Egg Beaters), too - you can "scramble" them in the microwave in only 3 minutes! And they're tasty and full of protein.

Do you like tuna? Make a healthy tuna salad - add to a can of tuna some chopped up celery and fresh lemon juice - very tasty.

Sweet potatoes are also a good addition to the diet - they are very good for you and a medium potato has about 120 calories. Fork them, then wrap in a paper towel, and microwave 2 minutes per side. Serve w/ 1/2 c. cinnamon applesauce.

That's all I can think of for now....

Spocks right, If all your eating a day is 4 bowls of special k with fat free milk your only geting 600 calories a day if its the regular special k, Thats not good for anyone. Check out this site to see how many calories you should be eating and you should be eating 0.4 of your body weight for fat a day

Special K isnt good for me???
okay I went to the Kellogg's website to check - 1 serving of Special K has less than 1 gram of fibre = NOT good. Also, it only has 2 grams of protein. There are other cereals out there that are much higher in protein and fibre, but also low in sugar; for example: Grape Nuts, Shredded Wheat, that weird Kashi stuff

Eh. Im down to prolly 2 bowls a day. I really like the stuff w/ some splenda on top. I mean I still eat other stuff too like about a salad a day. Chicken about once a week.

ha, I eat chicken 4 times per day.

Please tell me you eat more than cereal, that pasta stuff you mentioned, and salad in a day, though?

My mother buys the Smucker's Natural PB (I personally don't like the taste, so I buy another kind), and the ingredients are peanuts and salt. PB is only natural if those are the only two ingredients (or if it's only peanuts). Check the ingredients again, and if that's what it says, than it's perfectly good!

nothings eaiser to make than a turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread with mustard or low fat mayo. add some lettuce and tomato(yum). for dinner, i like a grilled chicken cutlet with a steamed vegetable(broccoli, green beans, etc...) and a boiled potato. sometimes i do fish instead and i use pam cooking spray instead of butter. whole wheat pastas with some tomato sauce and a green salad with low cal dressing is always a good choice too. do you like veggie burgers? how about soups(only 100-150 cals a serving)the list is endless. just make sure to get variety- 4 bowls of special k is not going to meet all of your nutritional needs.

You want to get away from processed foods - of which Special K is one. Try something natural like oatmeal, or eggs, or a fruit smoothee for breakfast. I do the chicken thing too - boiled chicken breast, long grain brown rice cooked in nonfat chicken broth, and a blanched veggie. Ideally you'd want to do your own cooking - anything in a package or box is probably processed and not as efficient as whole, natural foods.

watchout

With a little imagination and the right sources you can find lots of variety especially at this site. But at 5'10'' 145lbs are you sure you want to drop anymore weight?

Good Luck

Good try on the Special K, but really, read some labels and find something better for you... then get some real meals in too...

I dont' know what kind of Italian dressing you use, but it is not exactly GOOD FOR YOU either.

To give you actual meals you like I would have to know what else you actually like to eat... Like a list of favorite (and refuse to eat) veggies, and what meats you like etc., otherwise, my advise is a variety of veggies and lean protiens, good carbs etc. Plenty of water, blah blah blah, but you probably knwo all that already.
