Digestion Question

I aint new to bodybuilding now and my knowledge out of 10, with 10 being master, I would say im about 7/8 out of 10 with knowledge asin diet and weight training technique;etc.

However time and time again I see people say about not eating carbs after 6pm, if ur after burning fat and toning up. I know the carbs are turned to fats as the body is inactive sleeping. But I thought it takes 24 hrs for food to digest in the human body, so even if u had carbs at like 10am they shud still be around ur stomach when u go to bed??

you heard 6pm, i heard 3pm. its all total bull

its about total calories burned vs calories consumed

ok, i have to respond to this. Ive always been told that carbs are "quick fuel", the first burned. Now, if you begin digesting within 3-4 hours and go to sleep at 9 or 10, arent those carbs going "unburned", and in which case, getting stored? Im not arguing with you, or saying your wrong. It just seems that alot of people say no carbs after 6pm (which works great for me), and others say its bull. Do you have any articles you could post that explain how this is bull?

BTW, 2 out of the 3 people who told me this were nutritionists, and the other was a soccer trainer.

i'm not a science guy but i do remember reading that where this came from was that they did a study and found out that a majority of ppl eat ass backwards. we're supposed to eat the majority of our calories earlier in the day and taper off towards the end of the day.

what they found was that most ppl skip breakfast, hardly eat during the day then when they get off work they hit the drive thru on the way home and once they are home, they sit in front of the tv and eat, eat, eat.

so that most of the calories they eat are between 6pm and 10pm each night.

now to me, this doesnt mean you have to limit carbs after 6pm. it means these ppl have to learn how to eat properly. i've also heard this from ppl who lift weights and train others who lift weights. these are the ppl i believe.

some might have a different opinion than me and i respect that. i'll see if i can find more, see if you can do the same. :)
