Diets don't work....

Have you ever wondered why there are 100's of diets, and that the diet industry is a billion dollar a year business? Diets are designed to fail. Yes, you will lose weight by calorie restriction, but in the process you slow your metabolism, decrease your bodies nutritional intake and typically burn a fair amount of muscle for fuel thanks to the calorie deprivation. Most diets teach our body how to become better and better at storing fat. It is ironic that in the last several decades we have decided to calorie deprive our bodies. My great grandmother never went on a diet, and the only time her body was "deprived" of calories, was courtesy of a potato famine or similar event. Our bodies only know what 1,000's of years of evolution has taught it. Eat foods that your body has to work to digest, every bite we put in our mouths will have a chemical reaction meaning that a hormone (insulin) is released and that insulin then takes the glucose which is the result of the digesting food, and it travels to muscles and organs in order to feed and support the body. Too much glucose/insulin and your body stores fat and our bodies become insulin resistant.

What you have to remember is this, if you want your metabolism to fire up so that it can burn your body's fat for fuel, you have to feed it. You wouldn't expect a camp fire to rage hot and keep you warm by not putting clean, dry wood in it, would you? But yet that is exactly what we do when we diet! Your metabolism has no fuel.

Next month, we will be holding a webinar for folks wanting to learn more about effective FAT loss (and increasing your health). It will go against just about everything you have ever learned while dieting, but I can tell you the results are far different than dieting: healthy, vibrant, energetic, great skin tone, clear skin, better moods and sleeping. I will keep you all posted....I hope you can attend.
