I've been tracking my diet for about 8 weeks now on Fitday. I'm shooting for protein intake at about the .85 to 1 gram per pound range (about 180 to 220 grams/day), but I'm having a hard time accomplishing this without overdoing on the cholesterol and sodium. I'm also trying to keep my saturated fat intake below 10% and total fat below 30%.
Anyone have any tips? I'm almost 30, 6'6", 216 lbs and pretty active. I workout 3 times a week and cycle about 50 miles a week (10 miles a day) through hilly terrain (pretty good interval training there). Am I overly concerned about these numbers considering the facts? My cholesterol intake averaged 312 over the past month (should be below 300 I understand), my sodium 3863 (should be 2400) and my total calories were 2735. Protein's been only 156.
I've been eating a lot of yogurt (fat free or lowfat), chicken breast and tuna fish or salmon for lean protein. Should I be looking to supplements to increase my protein intake?
