Bleh

I have a headache, which is strange because I just don't get em. So it's really not a headache per se, because it doens't really ache--it just doesn't feel great.

Bleh! I already ate 1490 calories today because I needed it, for one thing, but now I have to have a light dinner if I still want to lose 8 lbs this month. Today I walked the office dog to the beach for 35 minutes (and ran a little bit), and after work I'm going to my gym for Pshycho Michael's Kickbow class. Seriously though--if you do everything the way he shows you, you can burn 700 calories (1 hour kickass cardio, high impact, mixed up, makes your heartrate go from fast to in-your-throat, combined with millions of squats and then 15 minutes abs/gluteals). I'm still kind of sick, but I can do it! I LOVE this class

Anyway, I'm tired

Hi Curvie Girl!

700 calories in one hour i wish I was there to take the class with you! :) keep up the great work your half way to your goal

Amanda

Compliment

I went to class--whew-ee, it was fun! I worked out so damn hard! Anyway, at the end, this cute, slim, Barbie-esque blond chick, who has always seemed nice but we never really talked other than say hi in passing, grabbed my arm and was like,
"Hey! I just wanted to tell you, you've been looking good. You lost weight?"
And I said I was, and she said, "What have you been doing?" and I said I was cutting calories, since I used to eat too much to be slim. She complimented me again, saying she wanted me to know that most girls usually don't and she felt it was appropriate. I thanked her and said I appreciated it.

And I smiled a lot. I was pleased--the past compliments I got were more in an awe-type tone, like they couldn't believe I looked as good as I did (because I guess I looked terrible 14 lbs heavier). Hers was supportive, genuine, and really sweet. Funny thing was, I agreed--I was looking in the mirror and thinking I was looking really good, especially my arms. All those damn shoulder moves have made them quite muscular and slender (compared to the chubby sausages I had a while back).

Anyway, I had veggie pizza for dinner--tomorrow and the next I am determined to eat more greens.
DETERMINED!
Oh, and Steve gave me some advice that I'm going to try because I figure it's time to mix up my routine, before the plateau hits. I've already cut my calories by 100-400 more than the last two months, so, yeah.

Bring it on! :D

I have plenty at home on account I work in a winebroker's office, it's just when I go out partying, beer tends to be cheaper (unless it's free champagne, heh heh).

Wow - what a neat job to have :) The only thing I can bring home would be some pretty strong ethanol or some chloroform or something - haha  I agree on beer being much cheaper :)

So glad someone complimented you - sounds like you are seeing some changes :). It does seem to be hard for some girls to compliment, I have no idea why!?!

Have a great day!! :D

Great Morning

I slept like...a baby I guess! Soundly and didn't wake once, and I feel great save for the lingering stuffiniess of this cold. Monday was the worst and I still went to work.

I weighed 142.5 lbs this morning which is pretty amazing so I'm going to update my "ticker"--BUT it's day 20. So my weight is going to creep up for period time. That will suck, updating my ticker then. Oh well--I guess all I can do is limit sodium and drink even MORE water. Last night I did my wine class homework and when I was done, I started writing new goals and resolutions. I want to map them out here but it's going to take a long time...uh and I should be working :p

I will anyway, just little bits here and there.

March MADNESS

Last night I was a good girl, and I ate 1905 calories because I was damn hungry and also because I burned roughly 900 with exercise all day (200 on my walk, 700 at the gym). I went home, ate dinner at 7:30, wrote on this thread, went downstairs and did my homework, then I brainstormed a game plan for March and for the rest of my weight loss, among other things I want to improve in my life. Please keep in mind I am NOT a prefectionist, but rather a person who is willing to make improvements as I grow, for a more comfortable life. Hmmm, I guess I can put it that way.

Goals for C.G. :D

~Regarding Food:

#1 Better proportions of food.
Accoding to "mypyramid" my specific needs are: 8 oz whole grains, 3 cups vegtables, 2 cups fruit, 3 cups calcium-rich foods, & 6 oz lean protein DAILY. Also, I need to make sure 3 cups of those veggies are dark green & leafy per week.

#2 Eat foods high in the gycemic index with foods low in the GI.

#3 Keep up what I'm doing: 5-6 small meals a day, no food late at night, LOTS of H2O, and treats in moderation.

#4 Use these tricks that I found:
--If a food is not that healthy, ask "Is it worth it?" If not, STOP EATING IT
--If I must have simple breads, add beans or meat to lower GI
--Meal plates should be 1/2 vegtables, 1/4 complex carbs, 1/4 lean protein
--At least 4G fiber in each meal and snack
--A salad a day
--Be excessively diligent when out with friends/family--because that's when I tend to over-eat/drink
--Cook at least one new, healthy, delicious dish per week
--Make an Excel spreadsheet to plan daily meals
--Eat a whey protein shake during and after a weight-training session
--Try to stick to this plan: Breaksfast 360 cal; snack 160 cal; lunch 450 cal; snack 150; dinner 480 for a total of 1600 calories, most days unless my body tells me to eat more that day.

#5 ALWAYS bag half my meal at a restaurant and eat 1-3 hours later, or when I really want it again.

~Regarding Habits

#1 NO BINGE DRINKING. And if I do, I have to pay for it by getting more exercise and cutting more calories, and avoiding alcohol for a few days after.

#2 Continue remembering to take my multivitamins and flax oil tabs

#3 8-10 glasses of water a day

#4 Aside from workouts, stay active all day: best way? DO HOUSEWORK

#5 spend at least 1 hour a day reading, doing homework, or writing reflections

OK, I'll get to my fitness goals later...

Fitness Goals

Fitness Goals for C.G. :D

~regarding workouts

#1 Try Steve's reccommendation: 2 days cardio, 2 days weight training, 1 HIIT day.

#2 Weight training days I will stop doing cardio beforehand, and lift very heavily, working with 4-6 reps. God that is going to HURT

#3 Remember what Steve said: weight loss does not=success, FAT LOSS does. And losing weight rapidly could mean muscle loss, so I'm going to give it all when I do my weight training circuit. Good thing I ALWAYS do total body on weight training days.

#4 Learn exactly how to do a HIIT

#5 Change workouts bi-weekly, try new moves

#6 Start doing yoga and pilates. I used to do them...

#7 Whatever else comes up....

OK! Back to work

Ugh, don't ever do this

If you're trying to lose weight and feel good about yourself, don't do what I did today:

I pinched the fat on my abdomen while sitting at my desk, periodically.

Gross!

But sometimes it's there, begging you to pinch it, like it's saying "I'm still hereeeee!!!" Look at it this way, turn it into some motivation, or give it a pep talk at your desk. Lol. =D And then one day you'll go to pinch and wont have anything to pinch, just keep it up!!

Thanks that made me laugh!!!!
I know, now I'm motivated to try these "core moves" I found--and get cracking on those Pilates I promised myself I'd do. ;) Thanks!

I have fat that I can pinch while sitting. I like it. :)

And I would not switch up your exercises bi-weekly. Some consistency is good, to build upon. Maybe monthly, but the core exercises should remain constant. Switch variations of the core exercises, but never leave them out.
