Hey all, so yea Im new here and needing to lose some weight. Consider it advice or support or whatever but Im sure as many here knows losing weight isnt easy. So a little back story about myself....... 10 Years ago I was a fit fairly trim athletic high school football player at around 200lbs (5'11''-6ft). After college, multiple jobs, partying, alcohol and lots of other things I ballooned up to 270lbs late last year. After seeing some Christmas pictures and how big I had gotten, I had decided to go on a diet and lose weight. Sometime in January I went to a 2000 cal a day diet (still eating whatever I wanted just limited the calories) and completely cut out Sodas. Sadly as I quickly lost about 30lbs in 3 weeks (thanks to a nice "new" disease called Type 1 Diabetes), spent 3 days in the Hospital and gained it all back. Now here I am some 6 months later with my diabetes and blood sugar in excellent control but Ive only lost about 15-20lbs. My goal is to one day be around 200-215 again as while they might not be the "ideal" weight...it was a healthier weight and a weight I was happiest at. I guess what Im asking is whats the best way for me to cut these last 40 or so pounds and get into better shape. Obviously exercise is #1. Im not going to lie in the past few months there probably have been dead people that have moved more then myself so I know that should be #1. What about eating/drinking habits, vitamins, workout/training programs etc?? Eating wise I can pretty much eat whatever. Obviously I have to watch any sort of sugar intake and carbs. My carbs are limited to between 45-60 carbs per meal (3 meals a day). Unless Im at a restaurant I only drink water (usually use a tea flavoring with it. No carbs, only 5 cal). If Im out at a restaurant Ill have a diet soda. I know they're not the best for you but I despise the local tap water. I thought about doing 180 carbs, 2000 calories a day plus hour (or more) of some sort of cardio. Weights are pretty much out of the question as I refuse to pay prices for local gyms. Ive also got multiple vitamins (Co Q10, Biotin, B12 among others) that are suppose to speed up metabolism, keep a healthy heart and also regulate blood sugar. Would this kind of diet + Exercise program + Vitamins be a healthy and smart way to lose weight? My goal is to be around my ideal weight at my birthday (Nov 14th) which averages out to me needing to lose 4lbs a week.
