Who said I'm ignoring the advice? This is for a completely different problem... bloating, that started when I took a long-term antibiotic. Figured it was related to lack of normal intestinal flora... saw a few different articles on detox, and I asked a question. I'm not even trying to lose weight anymore, apparently I already lost too much. I'm just trying to maintain my weight and lose inches. I'm doing Pilates daily, adding some weights, still watching my calories, doing everything I've been taught here, so please do not say I'm ignoring advice when I ask a question.
And yes, that was me who does not drink much water. I have tried, I am not thirsty. I can go days without drinking much of anything. It doesn't signify that I'm not dehydrated yet. Someone made the comment that it was good that I wasn't thirsty because when you're thirsty you're already dehydrated. Yes and no. I can be fully hydrated, eat something salty or do some cardio, and develop thirst. I can also not have anything to drink for days, be severely dehydrated, and have no thirst. The human body isn't so cut and dry. I continue to try to drink more water. But after a swallow or two, I am satiated. I try to drink more despite no thirst, and I become nauseated. When the gagging and dry heaves begin, I stop. I can drink other fluids more easily, but still not as plentiful as I should. When I can develop the ability to forcefeed myself against my body's wishes, I will drink more. I had an endoscopy scheduled to see what the problem is, (along with abdominal pain, bloating, distention, and nausea) but had to cancel. I will try to reschedule as time allows.
I think I MIGHT try Detoxatrim and see if it helps. What have I got to lose... (other than $22, which I think I can spare) it certainly can't hurt anything. Just wondered if anyone here has tried such a drug, and what sort of side effects, if any, they experienced. I've tried the acidophilus supplements, yogurt with live cultures, and it has not helped. This has been an ongoing problem since July 2005. I'm not aiming to lose more weight, but it would be nice to see a flatter, non-distended tummy. Who wouldn't want that, ya know.
Also, it IS advertised as a weight loss drug. I don't have confidence in any weight loss drugs on the market, or expect them to actually aid in losing pounds or inches.. I'm sure some where in the fine print it will say, "along with a proper diet and exercise" since THAT is what helps you lose weight... That's not really my question here. The ingredients seem like just the perfect cocktail for what I suspect my problem is, though I never claim to be right 100% of the time. Perhaps this is all related to an ulcer (from 10 yrs of Motrin use), and hopefully I can get that taken care of. But in the meantime, I'll give it a whirl. Maybe. Still researching.
Thanks again for your replies.
