Hi, all. My name is Carolyn and I found this site looking for a place that I could posibly get info from and give and receive support.

Ok, so... I have Fibromyalgia and a slow metabolism. My ability to exercise is fairly limited. I started losing weight around 2008, by Aug 09 I had lost a lot of weight. I started at the weight of about 315 give or take. I got down to about 197. It was not easy, and the weirdest thing is, most of the time I did not eat much while I was gaining, I was probably eating under 2,000 cals a day, but yet I gained about 80 lbs over a matter of 3 years.

I was however on a medication that is pretty known for weight gain as a side effect, whether that is valid, I have no clue. I am a vegetarian, so, I don't eat lots of fatty meats or anything, nor do I do much bread or sugar. I tried cuttting out carbs, exercising as much as I can until being in so much pain I fall off the eliptical, which at times is not over 10 mins. I tried all kinds of cal in takes, I went to 1,000 cals and my weight gain stopped, but no loss. I kept going down until I started losing. I had to get down to around 600-700 cals and exercise before I started losing. I lost for about a year, then last year it stopped.

I tried things again and nothing. My brother told me if was because I starved my body, that if I went upto 1,400 cals a day that I'd lose weight.... I gained 30 lbs. Now I can't find anything to work.

Thank you for reading. :)
