Defined abs

Long way to go yet as i still have a bit of fat to loose but to get defined abs do i do high weights low reps on a abdominal crunch or low weights high sets?

Abs work like any other muscle...I would just try in between like 4X8 or 3X10...having a calorie deficit helps alot but lifting also helps

by 4 x 8 do you mean 4 sets 8 reps? or the other way around?

Also if you are with a gym or you go to a local facility, look for an incline bench and use light weights with the crunches to define your upper abs easily.

abs are made in the kitchen, not in the gym bud. Eating right is the only way you are really going to see them. I can see mine because I work them out pretty heavily now, but I still have a good layer of top fat on me too. The only way you are going to see them good is when your bf % drops from eating healthy along with your workout.

Unware if this has already been covered. However is there such a thing as overworking the abs? I have seen numerous posts saying there is a limit and going overboard doesnt benefit as much as one might think. But in numerous Arnold Schwarenegger articles he claims there is no such thing and recommends ab workouts as much as possible. Sub question: 200 reps of crunches/40 leg raises...a solid ab workout?

5 secs between sets, no. 90 sec maybe if you are looking for hyp, maybe as low as a minute. but 5 secs then it barly counts as a different set.

abs is like any other muscle group.

working it 2 times a week is sufficient. and from my experience, its best to try out various exercises, and not just do a "limited amount"

there are alot of abdominal exercises out there, not just just crunches/leg raises, which most newbies are only aware of doing :]

ANOTHER BIG POINT!!!!!!!!!
You can't just train your abs. That is a huge misconception. You have to work your WHOLE core...abs, obliques, lower back, hip flexors, and glutes. ThAT is your core. Abs are nice to look at but your mid section will still be weak
