Hello everyone!
I'm here because I have 30# to lose. And I'm planning to do it by January 1st, which roughly breaks down to 1.5# per week.
I've been working on slowly moving the scale numbers down over the last 7 years. At my worst, 197. At my best, about 165. I lost quite a bit of weight when I became a vegetarian...and promptly gained most of it back when I started having injectable birth control administered. I also, unfortunately, live with someone that has the worst eating habits imagineable (it's hard enough to deal with my own issues...let alone cook a healthful meal for someone that would rather die than eat vegetables). It's a daily struggle to mentally do what is best for my health 3/4 of the day...and then wind up watching a movie that night with the one I love...while sharing a bag of oreos and having popcorn, lol. I have pretty good self-control when it doesn't involve my loved one. I'm finding, however, that the pounds that injectable birth control helped me to put back on...aren't coming off as easily as they should. So, I've taken up trying to exercise my dog 3 times a week. My schedule is extremely hectic since I'm a senior veterinary technician at an emergency hospital. It's not quite as easy as getting up at 6am for a 2 mile walk...when you're in the middle of a surgery at that time. I prefer my walks just before sunrise or just after sunset which makes it difficult to schedule in time for exercise. I'd like to think that on busy nights at the clinic, I'm getting my 2 miles in (now if I'd just remember my pedometer to check).
Basically, I'm here for support. I'm losing this 30# by January because we have an upcoming vacation to the caribbean. We went last year...and my weightloss attempts before that cruise were hindered by actually gaining 10# instead of losing it (I call it self-sabbotage). I'm also planning to get married sometime within the next 2 years. So, it'd be awfully nice to look and feel spectacular.
