So answering questions about my amending weightloss and already that feels scary, cause that means I have to commit and take actions other than stuffing my face and eating my feelings... like I said, scary, however, here goes:

-- How much weight do you want to lose?
15-17 kg

-- What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?
Is tomorrow unrealistic?
honestly, I am turning thirty in 4 months and I would like to loose some of it before then, so that I dont feel like a whale, but the most important thing must be to just loose at feel better, I guess

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)?
I will incorporate better eating habits, such as more salads and less junk food
I will also start running again, slowly and maybe swimming :) But the swimming is mostly just because I am sucker for water and I believe that it could be my selfcare, instead of food (I know food is not selfcare, but it is my go to right now)

-- Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?
I am doing this one myself.

-- How realistic is your goal?
Well I have done it before, so pretty damn realistic

-- When will you start?
When I started writing this diary

I dont know if these diaries are read by others or if it is just a personal tool, but I hope it will help getting all the feelings written down, during this process.

Welcome to the forum Hnsn! It helps to keep a dairy just for yourself, but there are lots of us about who will also be able to cheer you on. Even if not many post in your diary, know that there are many more who will read it & mentally support you :)

Thank you very much :-D It is always good to know how everything works, even after reading the info threads :) I am very excited to start this journey, so I appreciate the support :)

Hi Hnsn and welcome :)
Food may not be true selfcare but it is self-soothing for many of us. It's great that you already have a healthier alternative because that's the only way this can work in the long run.
Good luck!

be aware that there is a lot of "junk food" out there that can fool you hiding in plain sight... read labels and understand what's inside. labeling makes so much bad stuff sound good. beware the evil sugar and the multitudes of forms it can take.

and i apologize for this if you have a hold on the subject, but when i started using swimming as one of my fitness tools, it took me a while to learn the proper way to breathe and to have a better form. just a comment that a good coach probably could have shaved months off my trying to figure things out for myself. luckily since my major goal was burning calories, bad form was actually a bit of advantage at first.

good luck..

I appreciate the comments :) I will definetly be aware of the bad foods, and I am basing my diet mostly on 'clean foods' that are not processed, since it is easier for me to control :)

When It comes to swimming, dont you worry, I have been swimming for 10 years and have taken all classes regarding technique, although I am still in really bad shape so I will try to be aware of my breathing as you say. after all, I have not been swimming while overweight :)

Tank you so much for the feed back :)

I think 'go to' is probably a better description yes... I know it is bad, but still an addiction, so thank you for the support :)

roger that.... i know what you mean, too. with swimming it's hard to hide what you have like you can with practically every other activity. for that reason i hadn't been swimming in years until just recently... well, i will be starting up again when it gets a bit warmer. i try to advocate swimming as maybe the best non-impact exercise, but to many people, like me at first, it's nowhere near as natural as running or biking. i just wish SoCal water was a year-round warm like SoFla. if we get a handful of warm ocean days a year, it's a good year. luckily most of the pools i have access to are heated... though even on some warm days, that first lap is something i remember not ever being very fond of... :)
