Day 1 Staying focused

Yesterday, I didn't go to the gym. I relaxed for awhile, then went to work for an hour. Afterward, I ended up spending the day with my daughter, granddaughter and husband. We binged watched Netflix. I realized last night that might not have been the best thing for me because I ended up eating more than I ate the last few days; at least I had a higher calorie intake.

Today, I am planning to do some things around the house. I really need to clean, wash clothes and I really want to cook and make a few items to eat this week. I don't want my husband to worry about cooking during the week.

But to be honest, he really don't understand the struggle because he can eat what he wants and not gain a pound. For example, he eats a entire pack of double Oreos 3 to 4 times per week and nothing. If I eat 3 or 4 of his cookies, I'm worried about my calorie intake. I can't even imagine an entire pack of double Oreo cookies. Some times, I feel like if I look at food too hard, I gain weight.
Yeah, it doesn't seem fair does it, some people eat all they want and stay skinny as a rail, others (us) can't. Nothing we can do to fix that, except to work hard at controlling what we eat. I know it's hard for your husband to understand your problem, but the good news is he really doesn't have to, so long as he's supportive. It sounds like he is, that's what matters. I am also lucky, my wife doesn't share or really understand my problem, but she is very support. We are both fortunate in that.

Another day:
I actually got up late this morning, so I ended up going to another water exercise group outside. It was a more intense group, but I completed the exercise. My plan was to go back to the gym a little later with my husband, but he went before I got home from lunch date with my friend. Hopefully, next Monday, I'll be able to do 2 sessions. Since the weekends are difficult to stay on track for me.

Last night was a horrible night. I was in so much pain I could not sleep. I know I messed up with not getting in the spa after that workout, yesterday. It was such a hard night, I didn't think I was going to make it to the gym this morning, but I pushed myself and made sure I soaked in the spa after my workout today. Hopefully, I will not have a repeat tonight.

As far as my food intake, it went ok yesterday. I ate a little over my weight loss goal again, but I'm not stressing about it. I figure as long as the calories burnt is double the food intake, I should be alright. I was able to walk 7607 steps which is an improvement (but, it could be another contributing factor to my pain). There are times, I push myself a little too much; although the pain is a part of my life, I don't want it to be my life.

Yesterday's intake calories 1478

Breakfast
banana

Lunch @ The Chicken Lady Chick
Traditional Chicken salad
8 wheat crackers
1 cup mixed fruit
Vitamin water

Dinner
chicken and veggie soup
3 shortbreads

Today was actually a difficult day to go to the gym. I woke up early, but I was tired, so I trying to talk myself out of going. Finally, I told myself "what else do you have to do, it's 6:30am and you're not going back to sleep. Once arriving at the gym I really enjoyed the water. I exercised in the deep section today, so I knew I had to get in the spa. However, approximately 5 minutes before the session was over, they closed the spa. My mind started going down the rabbit hole of doom and gloom because I knew my body was going to react to the deep water exercise. Then I remembered, I had a whirlpool tub at home. It was a solution to my extra pain problem, but I also had to go to work. The goal was to get dress at the gym and go to work. Anyway, I called my hubby and asked if she could put some water in the tub for me, so I would have time to soak at least 10 to 15 minutes. He truly blessed me this morning, when I arrived home the water was ready for me. Small things in life means so much to me.

I will have to write my food intake later. Have a client.

That´s so lovely!

I didn't get an opportunity to write down my calorie intake yesterday. The sleep lab called to ask if I wanted to come in to do my sleep study last night instead of Monday, so I ended up doing my sleep study last night. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be without my sleep machine. I kept waking up, but I didn't choke or anything which was great. The downside is, my Fitbit tells me I only had 16 minutes of deep sleep. So, I decided it's best for me to get some sleep before going to work at 3pm today. When I am really tired, I'm emotional, which is not a good in my line of work.

Anyway, the next time I go in for the sleep study, I'll take my machine with me. Hopefully my insurance company will approve for me to get a new machine. I have had my current one for a long time and I can tell it's no longer working well.

I didn't realize everything was going to go into one section when I saved it. Now I can't deleted it. So, it's 2 days in one.

Hey Shell, good to see that your eating and all is going well, that's great.

How are your pains, I hope you are feeling better.

Wow Shell, bravo on the eating and going to the gym! Well done!

The pool and spa area at my Y has been shut down for the past couple weeks, it should open in just a few days. I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed swimming and soaking after my workouts.

Did they get to give you any results from the sleep study yet? I hope you get a new machine, I know what a difference a good nights sleep can make.

Hi, Shell. Your food sounds good. My husband & I are both booked in for sleep studies. It will be interesting to see how they go. I think my sleep is affected by my husband's snoring & his getting up 4 or so times a night.
I hope you do get a new machine. Poor sleep makes me feel so grumpy.

Thanks for asking. It's manageable so I am doing good. How are you doing?

Thanks Davis girl. No, I haven't received any results. I actually have one more to do with my old machine before I receive results. That one is scheduled for August 26.

Are they remodeling the Y in your area?
