Dave's Journey

15 Laps of the cricket oval & a last feeble attempt to do another 5 resulting in only one more…Points for determination! Back & Biceps, which was interrupted by an unexpected visitor…no harm done as I managed to get a good pump on the Biceps before finishing.
Progress so far is going good…I remember struggling to complete 2 laps of the cricket oval let alone 15 consecutive ones now. I remember how hard it was to complete 30minutes on the treadmill, now I can do 50minutes…I did not expect to start resistance training this early, however I am already beginning to overcome the initial pain it sometimes brings on.
To think it…it all stemmed from looking in the mirror & making “the” decision. Tomorrow marks the end of another week…looking forward to my Run already and will be a little more gentle on my squats this time round…SAT REST Day…although will be helping out a Mate at the Local Tip.
NEXT WEEK…outlook…the plan for next week’s bout will to be slowly increase my cardio which is now only Once a Day but aiming for 45+minutes each time. I will also be attempting to do more outdoor running with increased time as well…getting back into the sun is great but I should consider doing it earlier---I can get some midday sun working outdoors in the yard as needed. As far as weights goes, I will still just be going through the motions with thought given to the types of exercises and how many sets & reps et… Main emphases will continue to be cardio…Have decided to stick with push-up program before doing my weights (consider it as a warm up) More discipline required in keeping the Sit-up program consistent!!!
Still early days and lots of stretching required…whilst I am overcoming the pain here & there…these early stages are still presenting to be akin to breaking my body in on the farm after a long break…instead of taking one or two weeks in the past, it’s perhaps going to take several weeks. Patients/Persistence & Sheer Determination will be required to truly overcome these birthing pains.
Note*Need to get more sleep!...the inclusions of various MP3s are working well, however as I become more in control, I should consider sampling running more on my own merit & tune into myself without such aids to help improve my balance. Currently researching “Chi Running” however after posting in the Cool Running forum will stick with my natural “forefoot” strike as opposed to the Mid-Foot Strike…Mostly looking to extract principles on Mind State & Body Awareness.
Also searching for some good self hypnosis files along with more Nuro stimulus Vibes…will perhaps Mix my own sound tracts with thought given to workouts based on various Intensities/intervals & distance. Just keep those miles coming Dave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Workout & keep moving…
Food…not an issue as I’m eating the main food groups/eating regularly & not starving myself…Depression is maintained on a higher level mostly due to sun exposure (I shrivel up indoors) & EXERCISE beyond the comfort zone…therefore when I now eat…it’s because my body needs it!!!
Anxiety is still high, however focused in a much more positive & productive way…Things are spinning by pretty quickly…but to hell with it all…what happens happens!!!...time to massage the wife. :)

EEEeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, I rewarded myself too much last night...EEEeeeerrrrrrrrrr...Never again...Never Again....EEEEeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrr...Not the rest day I was counting on :puke:

Well that blow out cost me! 2 days Off/ unhealthy eating habits-Mondays Run on treadmil hard at 25 minutes-dismal by last weeks standard-no weights or sit-up or push ups- no sun...to much procrastanating with other worldy crap!!!

Get back on Track Dave...Skin stArting to crawl again...get with the program---writeup a plan soon!!!...recomit buddy!!!

Thanks…need the encouragement!
Did another 30 minutes on Treadmill…for some reason it’s not as easy as last week.
Did my Push-ups! & Sit-up Program…also managed to do some weights, but simply just did a full body workout with high reps.

Plan is to try and run earlier in the mornings and stick to a full body workout every second day. I will try to run six days a week with a rest day that will hopefully fall on a rest do of weights. Starting to get back into it I guess…Thing is not to stop!!!!!!!! Keeping the weight off which is good I guess. This week is about sticking to it I guess…will not try to expect much too early.

Taking Fish oil Tabs & starting to get better with the apple cider vinegar drinks…hopefully it will help with the Lactose build up that seems to be getting my calf’s this week when running. SLEEP…
Goodnight & Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for checking on me! :bigear:

Did my 10 laps on the grass track today...decent sweat and more miles clocked up. Steady day-took my 6 fish oil tabs and two doses of apple cider vinegar. Bit late to bed, but all ends well...Zzzzzzzzzzzzz..will dream of a good days effort for the comming "Sessions" Will work hard tommorow!!!

Fish oils seems to be helping my dry skin-kept the running up for a few more days, but hhave now backed off a little as I am doing a lot of digging for my sisters vegie garden. Working outdoors is really helping me sleep again...feeling very sore and cramping up a bit...cant help but eat a little with all this hard work...keeping active any way you look at it. Need to keep the water up...my last run really sucked...kind of exusted I guess...see how it pans outs...backing off as required...came home the other day and under my eyes where very dark-bit worried about that-Must be a sign I need rest (lack of O2) will have to google....have seen this before when I train hard...getting old...oh well...Yawns...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

60 minutes on treadmill today! I did stop to stretch a few times but what an awesome sweat session it was. No weight or Body resistance today...too much swinging the Garden madock about. Early night tonight...body still stiff, but hoping to sleep well enough to run some good solid laps in the morning & put in a good days work digging to complete some garden beds.had some Rain today, which is very rare in these parts. Think I'll open the windows and breath easy tonight. Nighty night :)

Morning…15 Laps of the cricket oval.
Day…Swinging the Madock…Garden looking good!...2 hours solid.
Evening…Push-ups = 22,29,20,20 + 50 more to finish.
Sit-ups (crunches) = 45,50,45,45 + 60 more to finish.

Still on the same weight, but definatley looking a lot leaner, feeling stronger & fitter! Battling exaustion levles with tiredness/dark eyes & muscle cramps however seem to be backing in just the nick of time before falling off the perch…

FOOD…arrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhh…well if only I had money to burn…best I can do is eat the 50grams of meat amoungst all the fat…to think our Australian Beef wins awards…indeed it does, but some of us can only choose the cuts that aren’t fit for your dogs health. Rant Rant, cough cough,, splutter…we don’t buy into margarine, cheap oil’s-breads & the like, so I guess that is a pluss!!! Most of the fat I do consume is fresh animal fat and most of my carbs are complex…moderation could be better as in not the overall amount, but broken up into smaller meals perhaps.
Water is going good…fish oil is doing wonders & getting pletnty of sun…where HAT!!!!!!...give up the cap.

Overall…work on the rest & recovery…keep pushing on the runs though…wait for it Dave…not long before you see the wall and get your second wind!!!!! …Just keep it up & no exscuses with fancy waffer biscuts. :p

No running today...instead for breakfast, I had 1/4 of a cheese cake with mango jelly...Yeaaaaaa!!!!!!!! I love it when we run out of milk :)

Ready to even out the garden beds/ Dog fence/ walkways, then choose & plant the veggies...Doing well all round Dave...Enjoy your day!!!!!!!....just Don't forget Push-ups & Situps later...lost another killo, but just wait and see were that cheese cake goes ;)

Had a fruitfull day...forgot just how much was involved with soil preperation in the garden...enjoyed spending time with my sister. I let the mandatory exercises slip in favour of outdoor activities today. Feeling like I will sleep ok tonight & maybe break a record in the park tommorow. Hopefully the council gardners won't find any more dead bodys like they did the other morning I was running...bit close to home that one. Night all ;)

Bit late to bed tonight...will have to run a bit later in the morning tommorow. 20 laps again with push up and situps. Good run today-ran the last 4 & a 1/2 laps hard!...depending how I feel tommorow, I will try for 25. Weight is still about the same??? Will have just keep running I guess. At this rate, I'll soon be out of here and in some runners blog...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Still here & still going for it!!! I will be damned if I’ll let this weight platue thing beat me. I figure if I keep running and keep running further, something will have to give…and I’ll sure as hell make sure it’s all this excess weight before it’s me that brakes…arrrgggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…yea whatever.
Yesterday was too hot, I got too much of a late start to run, but not to worry…kept busy outdoors and I ran 30 laps today…that’s 1:10min continuous outdoors…Excellent work Dave. Time to consolidate on that this week! Back off slightly or simply hold the distance and work off that.
State of Mind had played a big part with all this exercise as well as finding time to “SLEEP” & sleep “properly” Managing stress has also played a big part…it has not simply disappeared with all this new healthy life style, but simply given me the means to put up with and perhaps find solutions I’d otherwise not……Sleep well tonight Dave…you need to work on early nights and early mornings & drink more.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

OK...to buggered and sore to write up a new report...here is the one I posted in Cool Running (Australia)...marks a turning point in my exercise & possibly may be the key into breaking through my weight platue:

"Holly Crap Batman! Forget the transition from Treadmill to Grass…I swore I had already been to the toilet before my run, but after hitting the Pavement for the first time, I was side tracked within the first ten minutes of hitting the first dunny on the bike track. I feel as if I have started all over again…don’t get me wrong Mary, I’m glad you mentioned it as I think hitting 40 laps on the cricket oval was going to turn my head into a marsh mellow anyways. I don’t hink I have to worry about my little sore ankle anymore, I now have several other complications….eeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…Good Workout all the same!

I’m still at that stage where I feel like a dill as the more buffed ones elagantly stride past me (my problem!-not theirs…begginers know what I mean) but- I felt better as a few of the pro’s nodded with an encouraging nod-smile & I in turn to others. I’m kind of embarased to say but here are my stats from run-keeper. Keep in mind I had to revert to Jog-Walk-Jog Crawl & there was a lot of elevation before I hit the bike track and made it home:
Distance - 7.21Km
Time 51:59

I think I found a new work out that may actually help me over my platue! Exscuse me while I go crawl under a rock to recover.

Let's face it Dave...whilst your still standing, you may as well give up the butter & sweet things ... Cut back on the portions as well... Raw veggies & all that-you've still got plenty of Fat to burn...in fact DAVE...Now is the perfect time...All that work you've put in & so forth; you should be strong enough to burn the flubber, and bold enough to fore go crap food that is holding you back! Time to stop blaming the metabilisim and wise up. Off with the beard & on with the Challange...No Sugars of any kind- No Fat - More water and back off the Food...Two weeks and see what happens!!!

Well done Dave…Up @ 5am, out the door @ 5:17am
Jog-trot-10km/6.2miles in 1:04:39
This marks the beginning of this route & I am having to push somewhat, but I am pleased with the results. I’m running on pavement without too much stress and doing hills as well. This is the kind of activity that is going to help me burn more calories and make help me to become a casual runner in the near future.

Just click on the top activity to see my most recent run-
it will bring up - Start Time - End Time - Duration - Distance - Avg Pace - Avg Speed - Elevation - Calories Burnt -
1095 calories Burnt...now to watch my intake :)...much better than 300 to 600!

Thankyou!!! I gave you some more rep power for that much needed encouragement :) (did you get it, as my web page froze & I can't remeber if it went through or not?)
Today I give myself points for determination, as I was in the Bath at 4:30am, trying to sooth my muscles and contemplating my 5am run. Yesterday had me running at 5am, & I did not finish in my sisters garden til 8pm. The ever so slight tickle/lump on the back of my throat, & dark bags under my eyes made the decision...REST DAY today. I'll exercise my food intake today instead...Back to bed for me...Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
